He was better than I expected as well but for 2nd RD pick it wasn't good enough.

Get StartedIt was his first season..
1,000 yards of offense and 9 Tds in like 14 games in his first year. In an offense that throws it like 40-50 times a game. Seems pretty solid.

Basically because Bell and Leshoure are interchangeable in terms of production. Our 2nd round pick could have been better spent elsewhere.
I don't care. 2nd RD picks need to produce faster, injury or no injury.
Here's the problem with looking at it like that......EVERY FUCKING team could do the same thing. Nobody hits on every pick. So the Lions are in the same boat as every other team.
In 2011 Bill Belicheck picked Shane Vareen with the 56th pick. As of today....he has 308 career rushing yards.....in 2 seasons. So is Belichick an idiot too then?? Couldn't that pick have been better spent on a DB for a team that was MUCH WORSE than the Lions against the pass this year??
It's easy for you to be a genius 2 years after the pick.
If Leshoure runs for 1300 next year is it still a bad pick?
he picked stevan ridley that draft as well. same as how he doubled up on hernandez and gronk. Ridley was one of the more productive rbs in the nfl. leshoure....was one of the least productive rbs in the nfl. When you have the most productive WR in the history of the NFL, you throw the ball over 700 times....and you STILL cant run the ball over 3.7 ypc.....ur not very good. When you touch the ball over 200 times and you cant even brak a run over 16 yds the entire year....ur not very good.

Thats exactly my point. Can't hit every time. Nobody does. Shane Vareen was a completely wasted 2nd round draft pick. It was a miss. Ridley was a hit. Trading up for Chad Jackson.....big miss. Gronk and Hernandez....big hits. It happens WITH EVERY TEAM. Mayhew has traded 5th and 6th round picks for starters. There aren't a lot of GM's of ANY team that have done that. Willie Young is a HUGE hit as a 7th round pick. Most 7th rounders don't play a down....ever. SLH as a 4th and Levy a 3rd were good picks also.
Way too early to call Leshoure a miss when he is surrounded by a terrible OL and exactly ONE offensive threat.
So you hate his yards per attempt
But defend Staffords??
Calvin Johnson had 756 yards and 4 TD in his first season. He was the 2nd overall pick.
Your theory is stupid.
Only started 10 games and his YPR was pretty darn good. I don't see your point.
YPA and YPR isn't the be all end all to whether you're a good player or not. But, if its the stat we're looking at 3.7 sucks for a RB and 15.8 for a WR is pretty good.
And what 'hughes said.
So, according to you....LeShoure is BETTER than Trent Richardson, who averaged 3.6 YPC this year?
They both sucked. But like I said it's just one stat. At least Richardson had had long runs plus caught more catches.
