Linos Weren't Targeting Safety

If we always draft BPA, and safety was BPA, would we have taken a safety?

If not, is it really BPA?

Do you think Haha or Lamarcus Joyner were BPA over Ebron and Van Noy.

BPA for Mayhew
Van Noy is easy to see since they traded up.

Ebron is too since TE isn't a huge need.

they should have nabbed Denard in the first

i like most of the picks, but the only 2 i really can't wrap my head around Ebron and Jones in the later round.

I'm not saying they should have grabbed Dixon over Ebron. I'm saying how can you say your strategy is BPA and then say we weren't targeting one specific position?

In that case it would be, BPA, unless its a safety.

They said in the article that Mayhew said he would have taken a safety if there was a stud still. So they were using all BPA

I'm all for BPA strategy but we're still 11 wins in two years..we had too many DT because Fairley was BPA and we lost SLH. It's either the wrong strategy or he's not doing it right..

one thing though. if every player contributes like last year we shoiuld all be happy.

I don't get why a player dropping 5-10 spots suddenly makes them less valuable of a draft pick. Some teams don't need to take a position, because they actually draft by need and not BPA. I think Dennard is going to be a great player in the NFL, he proved himself for one of the best teams in college football, and shut down everyone. Ebron was a luxury, and the fact that this team was allergic to help in the secondary is going to come back and bite them.

I agree with sometimes good talent drops..

Ihedigbo in free agency. Austin (former DB coach now DC). More blitzing. Coverage should be upgraded with Van Noy over Palmer out there. Can use 3 LBs more now and not be so predictable in nickel defense a ton. Quin at more natural free safety. Houston healthy. Slay year 2. Mathis a full year removed from his last injury. Greenwood got some experience and did well. And got Lawson to battle Bentley. Secondary still upgraded alot.

If this team does more blitzing, and does not get home with said blitz, they will be absolutely cooked in the air. They don't have the personnel to hang on an island with talented WRs. Some teams can get away with that if they have good players to match up with good WRs, but the Lions don't have that luxury.

Who says they don't hit home more. They added better blitzers. Front 4 no pressure brings just as many problems. Time kills secondaries not blitzes.

For instance, that Dalton throw to Green doesn't happen with a good blitz. Designed rollout to get away from front 4. If Van Noy is coming hard to the strong side, could be a sack. That couble move took time even with 7 back there.
