Lions ask to talk to Wisenhunt

I keep on hearing his to lose, top candidate but what if Whisenhut doesn't want to come here? Who else is there..?

The D in Cleveland is pretty good and they do have a bunch of draft pics and he would get to draft a QB. But if he wants to win right away like he did with the Cards then the Lions are built to win now.

To me the Lions would be the best situation. The Browns fire coaches without giving them a chance (5 coaches in 7 years). The Lions give long term extensions to unproven coaches after one good season. It's a no brainer!

True, Tom. But of course in Cleveland, you sign and get fired quickly, get all your money still and go get a new job for more money...

In any event we'll probably have this same conversation in 4 years.

Since the Browns got their team back in 1999 they have had 7 head coaches. Chris Palmer, Butch Davis, Terry Robiskie, Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, Pat Shurmur and Chud. I think Cremmel was the only one to get a head coaching job after being fired from the Browns.

I'm not sure which front office is more disfunctional....it is pretty close IMO!!!!

Chud might. But yeah hc from either place is a pretty good bet they never become head coaches again.

I feel a little sorry for whoever takes the job to coach here..

Albert Breer just said that he is hearing most coaches are treating the Brown job like its radioactive. No one seems to really want it. Honestly I cant blame them really. They traded away Richardson and made it clearly look like they were building for the future. Then fire Chud after only one year saying they didnt improve during the year. It is very difficult for a team to improve when they use 4 starting QB's at least 4 starting RB's and had countless injuries.

Like I said above they do have 2 first round picks and a great defense but I would find it hard to work for a GM that I know has sold coaches up the river before without cause. And it doews make you wonder if there is a clear plan in place.

Other than the quick fire, which in no way was warranted after that season, they have good talent there and you'll get a good QB at 4. Manziel and Gordon would be intriguing.
