Lions draft grades

a 2nd round pick should be more valuable than 40 yards. Now I have no idea what he does but a 2nd round pick should be productive.

640 yards (40 YPG). 128 carries would be 5 YPC. Throw in 500 yards receiving and good KR/PR, that is good production with 2 other backs in the fold.

But value grade is based on at the time not production. At the time, clearly many had Abdullah graded at 54. Many GMs had Tomlinson graded late 1st round. Carter clearly a 3rd round value. Wright 2nd-3rd round value and we used future 3rd. The value was an A+ and needs were an A+

Ill agree needs were a an a+. Value....we will see if anything changes. Another excuse makes of the list for stafford. ...run game is fixed.

When he has 40 TDs, I won't need reasons why he didn't get them. The reason is rarely Stafford's fault.

22 plus some rush TDs is clearly enough for 11 wins. No excuses needed with 11 wins.

At this point, I just don't care anymore what Ebron did last season, I just hope he's much better this season. Enough talk, would be nice to see this pick work out as we envisioned it. Top 10 TE or top 10 offense, preferably both, too much to ask out of a #10 pick?

I care a little bit because it wasn't a need and he didn't perform. We needed him, maybe could have won the division or a playoff game. I get what you mean..same reason why I don't want to hear about Millen any longer.

He's getting 3rd targets. His value will be needed once Calvin gets too old (hopefully 2018). That could be way down the line.

Ebron showed flashes. Most rookie TEs disappoint. Even if he's pick 10, he's still a TE. Plus 3 missed games from injury takes away produciton. He can be very valuable to this team and it should show this year. He has the speed, athleticism and more time in the playbook. He's got the coaching to develop his route running and can concentrate more on making the catch instead of thinking about where he needs to be all the time.

600 yards and 4-5TDs with Calvin/Tate doing there thing is huge for this offense. And the TDs depends on Fauria. If Fauria is healthy and gets another 7-8 TDs then we just need Ebron for the yardage and matchups. People disregard Fauria's injury in the redzone. That was big.

3rd target was a need. Someone to keep the offense alive as a 2nd target if Calvin went down was a need. He can fulfill that need in year 2 now that he knows the playbook more.

You keep on saying most rookie TE's don't do well. But most don't get drafted at ten..there's a reason you don't draft them at ten. He was a need or bpa. I hope he becomes Ditka but last season he was a disappointment.

To be 100% honest guys, I will be shocked if Stafford isn't over 30 TDs this season. I know we're going to "pound the rock, with our picks and shovels and shit" ... but I just don't see how he doesn't throw for 30+.

Optimism is the most fun part of the preseason.

Vernon Davis didn't do well. Lots of top 10 picks take a year to develop too. They aren't all good right away.

The Lions were good enough to handle waiting for Ebron's production. It's a great thing we didn't have to rely on just Ebron like the Giants did with OBJ. 11-5. That is a fact.

Hope you're right and INT are down but he's only done it once..

They were good enough to finish 2nd in the division and not win a playoff game. That's all they were good enough for..

He had 29 TDS with pretty good protection in 2013 (Waddle, Warford, Reiff on that line) and 4 YPC running (ok not great). And that's with Durham, Pettigrew, and Burleson (half year), Fauria (redzone) as his secondary weapons.

Now we should get closer to that protection and run game and he has Tate, Ebron, Fauria (redzone) and Fuller instead. Plus Abdullah and Bell of course.
