Lions moving Reiff to guard?

All I'm hoping is that eventually when we draft 1st and 2nd rounders they start at the position they were selected for, year one.

This I can agree with...they sure do like the "earn your position" theory. Sometimes you need to throw the guy in there and see if he can swim.

I say we draft all kickers and punters from here on out, we can trade down and get more picks so we can take like 6 kickers and 9 punters with our 15 picks in the 6th and 7th rounds. From there we can fill our defense, those guys are great athletes, they'll adapt to new positions.

None taller than 5'9" and none bigger than 145 LBS.

reiff isn't built for LT yet we selected him in the first round.

He looked pretty good on Thanskgiving at LT. And late first round you can take a RT or Right Guard if they are good. So far so good with Reiff. You just want to hate on this pick now and are going to latch on this dumb rumor.

Good players start, simple. The Lions were horrible on the right side of the line, fact. Fox could not get playing time on the right side, fact. If Peterman and Gosder started ahead of you, you suck. If Fox who hasn't played in 3 years and got beat by Peterman and Gosder yet starts ahead of Reiff, that makes Reiff a wasted pick.

Fox is a tackle only. And Gosder had a good year last year. He is a 1st round pick along with Backus and Reiff. Having Gosder start over Fox doesn't mean Fox sucks.

We're complaining because Mayhew drafted this kid to be our future LT. If he believed he was a tackle and has already given that up, then it's a shitty pick. I'm not complaining about Reiff possibly being better suited for guard , I'm complaining about Mayhews draft picks.

Of course you are. He played tackle in college, yes. Maybe he's better suited for Guard. It's no big deal. The Packers did it with Baluga a few years ago. He was drafted as a Tackle, now he's a stud guard.

And did Mayhew ever come out a profess that Reiff is the future LT of this team? Honest question...

Again, everyone chill the fuck out. Stop complaining about everything....

Norhing else to bitch about, bro.

Wait until the draft happens when all the Youtube scouts bitch and moan. It'll be unbearable on here...lol

He looked pretty good as a FB last season too maybe Mayhew knows what he's doing :hehe:

Coaches decide where they play. Reiff did do well at FB and LT. As long as he's starting and playing well, I don't care which position he plays on the Oline. Especially if Backus is still in town at LT. We were deep at tackle last year, now the plan will be implemented with Gosder a free agent and Peterman shown the door. Which positiion will it be, LT, RT, RG. Stay tuned unless you believe every rumor you see as set in stone. If you believe every rumor then he'll be the Lions RG for the next 10 years because some random talking head said the Lions had a "strong desire" to move Reiff to guard.

coaches also led us to from a playoff contender to a 4 win team in less than a year.

That would be injuries and turnovers when we all know they're better than losing 17 ints, 9 more fumbles and 4 special team TDs. Not all on the coaches

Coaches also led us from 0-16 to the playoffs in 3 years. These things work both ways. Was our team a little lucky in getting those 10 wins last year? Yeah. Was our team unlucky in getting only 4 wins this year? Yeah. It happens.
