Mathis and Tullcoh and Ihedigbo didn't win their matchups. but they have talent and can win in Week 2 and beyond

The clock strikes midnight on 30 year olds in the NFL pretty quick...they are all being fitted for glass slippers right about now.

Tulloch - 30 coming off ACL
Mathis - 35, not many serviceable starting CBs at that age!
Ihdeigbo - 31 going to be 32. Not sure on him...never thought much of him anyway.

You are overreacting. Mathis did well at 33 and 34. He can rebound. Overall he can do well, one game does not define him.

And Tulloch would be more injury related if anything. Which is bullshit

I don't think anyone is overreacting. We are just saying there are two possibilities. 1) just a bad game by the 3 of them. 2) a 30 year old who is coming off ACL, a 31 year old SS and a 35 year old corner may just be worse than they were last year. I think it is likely a little of both.

It's way more likely they rebound. People are way to concerned with age

Blame QB (clearly there are many factors to completes, incompletes, TDs and ints including protection and weapons gettign open)
Blame play calling (which fans have no clue)
Blame for not making adjustments (which fans have no clue)
Concerned about age (which many older players do well, it's case by case basis

The biggest generic bullshit by sports fans are saying the things above. I'm sick of it. And I'm here to kill it on this board.

And I really really like Blake Bortles for saying this. Perfect timing

theres a lot more than 3 ppl that didn't win their match ups. When practically your entire team didn't win their match ups....you didn't have a good game. When you continue to not have good games....youre not a very good team. We will see if that's the case.

The Dline won their matchups. Rivers pressured as much as Stafford. Then SD switched to short passing game. Slay, Quin and Bynes won thier matchups.

Oline struggled with pressure missing the entire right side. Laken did some good things but is a rookie. Lucas struggled too.

Calvin and Tate didn't win their matchups enough.

It was one game. We aren't continuing to not win matchups.

You are overreacting. Which is expected from a Lions hater like yourself.

rivers threw for 400+ yards...the dline didn't do shit. They had a good 1st qtr then fizzled away into nothingness.

Correct the oline struggled....but it wasn't just the right side. Reiff got Stafford killed atleast twice.

Rivers was pressured 38% of his dropbacks like Stafford. We got so much pressure he went to a quick passing game. Walker had 7 hurries. Suh has never done that. The Dline won their matchups and held SD to 3.2 YPC. Detroit Dline did some very good things. You are blind if you don't think they did anything.

Reiff's fault on the lone sack but he won the majority of the day. Man Ram played well too.

The big hit for the int the Chargers faked an inside blitz and brought Ingram. Good fake by them and Ingram is 1st round talent. Plus the Chargers Dline cheated and held Laken on that play.

Stafford, Lions Dline, Reiff, Man Ram, Abdullah did a good job. Laken, Ebron, Moore solid. Bell was rusty but did some things in passing game. Calvin/Tate did not have good games but kudos to Flowers, Weddle and Verrett on that. They are good players.

Dline,Slay,Quin and Bynes had good games. Tullcoh,Mathis,Ihedgibo can rebound.

Ngata had 4 hurries. Jones hit and 4 hurries. Ansah sack and hit. They did a good job. plus 3.2 YPC for SD run game.

Ok, so PFF is good in this, because it agrees with the point you wish to make. Gotcha. I'm not sure the NFL uses PFF, PFF doesn't even offer premium stat subscription anymore. Most not be worth it.

They are upgrading their rating system.

sportingcharts is 100% pure garbage

You do realize 19 teams have started using PFF analysis. It's filled with former scouts working there.

Get back to me when teams use sportingcharts.

Plus if you YOU WATCHED THE GAME you would see Walker had 7 hurries too.

Stop being blind.

Here is what PFF said about the Lions:

The offense should be better this year than last, assuming WR Calvin Johnson (89.2) can stay healthy. The main thing holding the team back is QB Matthew Stafford (74.3), and having only a few Pro Bowl-caliber players. There were only four games last year where Stafford had an above-average PFF grade for a quarterback. The results for this team should be similar to last year unless Stafford steps up: a wild card spot and probably an early playoff exit.

I've said many times they are good at everything BUT QBs. QB is way too complicated for this kind of judging.

Stafford had some bad luck in the injury department and was in the first year of a scheme.

He looked good on Sunday and moved the ball. The picks were due to pressure. 28 PPG. Keep it up. And he looked good even with Calvin and Tate blanketed.

But if you want to "get me" with PFF.

PFF ranked Stafford's 2012 and 2013 higher than his 2011. And he was a top 5 passer in 2013 according to PFF.

And since you all though 2011 was a good season. You have to say 2012 and 2013 was a good season too.

2014 was a new scheme plus alot of pressure due to Oline injuries and lack of run support. Run support looks to be fixed. Now get Waddle and Warford healthy to fix the pressure.

Is that what the 19 NFL teams told you. They look at it for everything but the QB from PFF?

So PFF knows what everyone job is on the entire field, know the play call, know the protection but can't comprehend what the most important position on the field does? That is a huge red flag if they don't have the ability or brains to grade the most important and most visible person on the field.

If that is true, PFF is the biggest joke site in the world.

PFF gives a grade. But it is way too complicated. The only one who truly can give a QB a grade is the team itself. They know the playcalls and the situation with injuries.

PFF is used by NFL teams and I'm sure they have their own grades too. You are a joke for ignoring how great PFF. You don't understand how to use it. This doesn't surprise me.
