Matt Garza?

I am hearing its turner and 2 unnamed prospects for Garza and 1 prospect pending physicals and Garza agreeing to an extension. I just hope one of our unnamed prospects is not Castellanos.

Not doubting you, but where are you hearing this?

Jason Beck and Peter Gammons are saying no go for this deal, Cubs asking way too much

2 unnamed prospects usually mean mid tier at best. So no Castellanos.

Tigers might actually go after Garza even after the Prince signing.. Cubs are somewhat desperate to unload some payroll..

Might as well go all in now. The Rangers have been doing it for 3 seasons and it has worked for them

Cubs and RHP Matt Garza avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract.
The deal is under the $10.225 million midpoint, but it also contains performance bonuses that could push the total higher. The 28-year-old right-hander earned $5.95 million last season while posting a 3.32 ERA and 197/63 K/BB ratio in 198 innings. He remains under team control through 2013 but figures to be a prime trade candidate at the July deadline.

The Rangers haven't really been going all in...they still have a top 5 farm system.
