Miguel Cabrera all time great career HOF numbers tracker

June 15, 2021: Tigers 4 - Royals 3 -- Miggy hits 5,000 total bases.
Miguel Cabrera's first-inning RBI single and sixth-inning double pushed him to 5,001 total bases for his career. He became the 22nd player in AL or NL history to cross the 5,000 mark. Mel Ott is 21st on the all-time list with 5,041 total bases, while George Brett is 20th at 5,044.

6/15/2021: Miggy with his second hit of the night a double to rightfield,
That ties him with roidy palmeiro for 20th place all-time with 585 career doubles.

When Miguel Cabrera gets 95 more hits, including 15 more doubles and 8 more homers, he'll have 3,000 hits, 600 doubles, and 500 homers.
The list of players with those three attributes is currently: Hank Aaron, Albert Pujols.... That's it.
and he is under appreciated..if he had not donated his body the last 4 years of his prime..no telling what these numbers would be now.

That is great company indeed! He was a great player. I wonder what his body would be like now if he actually kept in better shape over his career. Since he has been a Tiger, he has carried about 15-20 more lbs than necessary. That takes a toll.

Great numbers for sure. Ironically enough his doubles might be the hardest to reach. Hopefully he finishes strong, get some gappers.

Couple years ago the one area I thought for sure he wouldn?t have any issues getting to was the 600 doubles. Now yup it may end being the hardest he doesn?t seem to hit many of those anymore everything is a single or a HR

based on his current pace this season, he is projected to have 69 more hits, 7 more doubles and 9 more HRs this year. Probably get the HRs this year but likely that his doubles and hits will have to wait until next year.

Miguel Cabrera's double in the 6th inning was the 586th of his career, breaking a tie with Rafael Palmeiro for 20th in MLB history. He's now six doubles shy of tying Todd Helton (592) for 19th.

New bobblehead helps Tigers fans track Miguel Cabrera?s pursuit of 500 home runs.

A friendly reminder. The combo milestones Miggy is trying to reach are truly historic in the annals of baseball. Only 6 players have reached both 500 homers and 3,000 hits: Hank Aaron, Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols, Willie Mays, Rafael Palmeiro and Eddie Murray.

Miguel Cabrera?s Hit Parade: Miggy?s Greatest Hits.
Vintage Detroit

As we watch Miguel Cabrera finish off his great career, fans are anticipating his historic 3,000th hit and 500th home run. Both milestones could come during the 2021 season, though Miggy will need to step up his production to get to the 3k mark. He?s currently on pace for about 90 hits, which would leave Miggy about 60 hits shy of 3,000.

It?s easy to lament the punchless offensive force that Miggy has become. But we shouldn?t lose sight of the great accomplishments he?s had in a Detroit uniform. Since arriving in a fantastic trade after the 2007 season, Cabrera has done a heck of a lot for the franchise. For example:

Two MVP awards, in 2012 and 2013.
Baseball?s first Triple Crown in 45 years, in 2012.
Four batting titles.
Two home run crowns.
Twice leading the league in runs batted in.
Twice leading the league in Doubles.
Twice leading the league in Slugging.
Twice leading the league in OPS.
Twice leading the league in OPS+.
Twice leading the league in Total Bases.
Eight times having over 300 Total Bases in a Tigers season. 12 overall.
Seven All-Star selections.
Five Silver Slugger Awards.
Miggy helped the Tigers to four consecutive division titles and one pennant
Cabrera has also been a lot of fun to watch. His playful nature on the field made it not only exciting, but fun to watch the Tigers as they came back to prominence from 2008-2016, the prime years when Miggy and the team were contenders.

Here?s a list of the greatest hits in the career of Miguel Cabrera, a surefire Hall of Famer.

That first inning home run was the 493rd of Miguel Cabrera's career, moving him into a tie with Fred McGriff and Lou Gehrig for the 28th-most in Major League history.

The Double was the 587 for Miggy and now he is 5 behind tying Todd Helton for 19th place all-time.

The two hits so far tonight gives Miggy 2,915 for his career and leaves him 12 behind tying Al Simmons for 40th all-time.

Miggy's 2 runs scored gives him 1,478 just 3 behind Arlie Latham for 77th all-time.

Miggy's 6 Total bases gives him 5,015 and 26 behind Mel Ott for 21st all-time.

Miggy's 2 Extra Base Hits gives him 1,097 and 2 behind Eddie Murray for 21st all-time.

Miguel Cabrera hits home run 494.
Watch this one. A patented Cabrera oppo shot.
BYBTB

While the Tigers were busy sweeping a doubleheader from Cleveland for the first time in living memory, Miguel Cabrera put another exclamation point on an outstanding career, drilling a fastball over the wall in right center field in game two for his 494th home run.

In the process, Cabrera left Lou Gehrig and Fred McGriff behind, seizing the 28th all-time position for his own, but the next move will take some time. To catch Orioles great Eddie Murray, Cabrera will need another 10 home runs. Gary Sheffield lurks beyond at 509. All of that will probably have to wait for 2022.

Cabrera?s hot streak may not last, but he?s actually had a very productive June at the plate. After the bicep issue early in the season, and a lack of hard contact in the air, things weren?t looking great, but he?s swinging the bat much better. The odds of him reaching 500 with half the season remaining seems pretty good right about now.
Miguel Cabrera is hitting .333/.360/.488 this June. He?s not walking and his BABIP is like .450

It was also a big month for Cabrera. With a pair of two-hit games in the twin bill, he closed out June batting .329 (28-for-85) for the month with five doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs, his first full month batting over .300 since June 2019. In the process, he has taken what had been a sub-.200 batting average as recently as June 13 and pushed it to .240.

Nice day for Miggy yesterday between the double header with Cleveland

4 for 8 1 HR, 2 RBI's 2 Runs

The 4 hits takes him to 2,919 81 more to 3,000 which now looks doable to reach this year if he keeps it up and stays healthy. 8 more to crack the top 40 all time.

1,760 career RBI's now 8 more to catch Big Papi at 22nd

Miguel Cabrera is now 71-for-189 (.376) in his career with the bases loaded. That?s the 8th best batting average with the bases loaded in MLB history (min 150 PAs).

His 19 bases-loaded doubles is tied with Orlando Cepeda, Torii Hunter, and Albert Pujols for the 7th most ever.

This is the 19th time in his career that Miguel Cabrera has knocked in at least 5 runs in a game. It?s the 3rd time he?s done it against the Rangers.
69 hits to 3,000 and a five-RBI night for our Miggy!

Miguel Cabrera's 3-run double in the 5th inning is the 2,930th hit of his career, tying him with Jake Beckley and Rogers Hornsby for 38th in MLB history.

The double is also his 405th as a Tiger, tying him with Sam Crawford for 7th in franchise history.

Miguel Cabrera hits career home run No. 495, a two-run shot in the 6th inning.

The homer is also the 1,100th extra-base hit of his Major League career, the 21st player in MLB history to reach that milestone.
