Minicamp notes

I like the talk coming out of camp about Cassius Vaughn. Hopefully he isn't like all the other off season all stars like we've had before and can actually play well during the season.

The guy has been one of the lowest rated CB's in the NFL the last 2 years (a -19.1 from Pro Football Focus) I wouldn't expect much.

It would be nice to get a surprise out of him or Greenwood this year. If one of those two can play at a good CB#3 level.....that would help immensely.

Why doesn't anybody mention Jonte Green besides me, lol? I thought the guy played well while on the field last year.

Green is typically mentioned along with Greenwood.....I guess it's because I am rooting for Greenwood to make it.

If it's Green that ends up playing well......I'm good with that too.

According to the reports i have been reading, Houston's release was based solely off his injuries and his lack of confidence. The Lions didn't think he was going to come back 100% at any time soon. Think about it....they gave this guy an extention. Why would they cut him? He was decent when he was healthy. Injuries killed this guy and he's paying the price for it.

It's clearly only injury and some cap stuff too.

all guaranteed for ansah, no cap savings. Houston 3.5 million in savings from the cut. Once again, hughes is clueless.

We didn't save shit lol....we blew millions when we resigned him

They saved like 5 million in the cut of Houston. 1+ this year and over 3+ next year. No?

he was given a 6.5 mil signing bonus last year. he has a 3.3 mil cap hit this year and 3.9 next year. What we "saved" is peanuts compared to the money hes pissing away...

"Houston signed a five-year, $25 million contract before the 2013 season, and he still counts as $5.2 million of dead money in the 2014 salary cap, $2.6 million in 2015 and $1.3 million in 2016."

Only 1.3 this year 3.9 next year. They saved both years (3.5 this year) compared to him on the roster. Spotrac is wrong. NFLPA has us at 2 million under.
