Losing to the Cards 4-1 in the '06 WS was easier to stomach b/c the Cards were in one vs the Red Sox in '04, but the '12 postseasoned veteran loaded Tigers team who got swept in 4 games, especially while being SHO on the road and @ home in consecutive 2-0 games really sucked bigtime.

Different for the team you root for. I don't care if one of these team gets swept. Even if a game 7 is exciting after the fact I don't anyone here will be bummed in 4 months because an LA team or RS team gets swept.

This isn't ESPN, where we could read posts on the MLB General board from opposing fans, and we don't get trolled here on DSF. Never forget when ESPN was down on the very night that the Tigers lost Game 5, and we were spared most of the trolling fallout that would have been posted on the Tigers board. Was bad enough in Game 2, when the Cards and other NL fans descended en-masse on the Tigers' board, b/c of Kenny Rodgers' smudged thumb, and even though he continued to stifle the Cards hitters after being told to wash his hands. He still is and will be for the forseeable future as the only Tigers SP to record a win in a WS game, since '84.

My point was I doubt you see anyone here bummed a day later that one team got swept. Or lost in 5 and then questioned the team afterwards. Because end of the day we don't care about these 2 teams.. For most.



A fun off the cuff fact: I would root for the NYY in the world series back in the 70's. They were fun to watch. The thing about Youth, I didn't have a team I hated back then. Now I have so many. Somehow I need to change that.

This is contradictory.

It would make sense that if you hope somebody wins and four, you would be rooting against the team that lost game one, and you would be rooting against that team for as long as that team continued to lose.

From this and your other various posts it would seem that you are quite interested in something you claim that you care not about in the least. You also seem to be expressing that lack of interest quite frequently and vociferously.

I'm kinda torn on this one, I'd be ok with RP, Ian and JD getting a ring but don't want Dave to Win. sigh..Price I could care less about.

all I remember from that WS was the serious lack of offense and getting shut down by washed up lefties what was it again the 4th worst in WS history? or something stupid. It still hurts

I might have a favorite after game one. Be sure of one thing I won't be watching I want a quick series just so it's not talked about ad nauseam on my favorite sports websites. That's my interest.

I'm glad Michigan is on the bye. That was a long, long, long fucking game. Dodgers make it a series. 3-2 Final in 18 innings. 2-1 series.
