Mortensen reporting Suh to Dolphins

It was a bit of a cluster fuck. They had to have a strong feeling Suh would be gone. And maybe even Fairley. So they decided to prepare for the future and draft, a TE, right after we resigned a previous 1st round TE. Cluster fuck.

You can have a good defense without Suh.

Seattle did.
Denver, Buffalo, San Fran, Jets all with defensive numbers close to Detroits......no Suh on their teams either.

Will his loss hurt....yes. But there are other ways to have a good defense.

Wow all those teams actually re-signed their key players. Bad example.

I smell a desperation trade up in the draft, sacrificing more picks. Then claiming somehow this year that a DT was the 'best player available'. How convenient.

Birkett just said lions offered 17m a year and 58 guaranteed

Again how convenient. Saying we just offered him a little less to make Suh look like the bad guy. Wasn't that straight out of the Avril playbook? Complete asshats.

You really wanted the lions to outpay Mimi's offer.? Explain big guy how to do that and still be anything good.

Fairley only scheduled to make 5.4 mil this year. Nahhhhhh....lets decline that option so we can have no dts and be forced to offer him more. Complete jackasses lmao....

I wanted them to not restructure so many times that the final year of his deal is 22 mil cap number making his franchise number 28 mil. Complete jackasses...

The point I think was we've seen the Lions say they went big after one of their guys, were competitive, that turned out false.

First of all, never should have got to that point for multiple reasons, restructures and franchise tag only the biggest but not only reason, see the current situation of Levy, DeAndre, who is on his way to the franchise or FA route and previously Avril, Cliff. Every other team but Detroit signed or franchised their stars. None were in bidding wars.

Second of all what was the plan B my man? Decline Fairley's option, not resign Mosely, not draft a DT until the fifth round and roll with the guy who won Princton's got talent. So tell me 'big guy' how we should be at a point where we are outbidding someone for our superstar? If this happened to CJ you guys would be shitting yourselves, just insert him for Suh and Wr for DT and maybe you'll get it.

Old news? The dude isn't even officially a Dolphin yet. It's still relevant news. That's why you just don't restructure the same guy over and over..bad things happen.

Right and we knew his number would be impossible for well over a year. Old news.

I never for one second had any reason to believe Suh had any desire to stay in Detroit, he couldn't wait to get the hell out of the D

good bye suh, Lions will march on without the dirty player persona that plagued this team the whole time he was here. Anyone wanna bet he'll just end up suspended in Miami sooner or later now instead of Detroit?

"I really do believe he's got a lot invested in here, in himself and the community and the football team," Lions president Tom Lewand said in February during an interview on WDIV-TV. "He wants to have success in the NFL, obviously, but he wants to do that with us"

"I think there's a very, very good chance that we can get something done with him in the next few weeks."
Mayhew parroted that optimism two weeks ago at the combine in Indianapolis, noting "extensive" negotiations had occurred and that progress was achieved"

lol suh was just blowing smoke up their asses the whole time he never had any thought what so ever of staying IMO

Agreed 100%. Can't sign someone that doesn't want to be here. He was going to leave this year no matter what, IMO.

Anyone want to bet he'll be a first team All Pro on defense in Miami sooner than we'll have another one here in Detroit?
