Mortensen reporting Suh to Dolphins

I'm kinda glad he's gone. Too much money for just one DT. Money is better spent by adding a few average to above average players. Didn't Suh make more last year than the entire Seahawks secondary the year they won the Super bowl?

The Defense won't be as good but it won't sink right to the bottom either, they'll manage without him, I just hope the offense gets it's shit together now is all.

Didn't they sign Richard Sherman to be the highest paid DB in the league and went back to the Super Bowl this year?

I agree but then I'm not sure Mayhew can build the team we hope for.

Agreed 100%. Can't sign someone that doesn't want to be here. He was going to leave this year no matter what, IMO.

Him and his sister have been planning this since his second year or whatever. It sucks to lose a great player. But some people need to look at that contract and take a sigh of relief.

That's my biggest issue, if suh had signed like 15 mil per I think people would have a gripe. But this contract I'm not upset. No way shape or for, can we juggle that, cal, and stafford. NOW the lions have to use that money and get a couple of good starters. If they don't do that then we have a major problem.

Hey you're right guys! This frees us up to sign players like Cory Redding! Mayhew built a relatioship with him during his Millen years. Home town discount!

The strength of our D was built around Suh. The strength of our D was stopping the run. Suh eliminated rushing yards in his section of the field. That's gone and so is a top 5 D.

Exactly. People didn't like Suh for whatever reason. It was like they were being fined along with him. If you replaced Suh's situation with Calvin Johnson they'd be marching down Brush Street not saying oh we'll just replace him with some average to above average wide receivers.

Oh and the crew who loves the cap space? We are paying Suh $10 million to play for the Dolphins next year! Cap geniuses!

But they don't have Stafford and CJ contract to also deal with.

Like the old saying goes..."If you don't pay him someone else will."

They extended Watt two years before his contract was up. Instead we play hard ball. Never Never should have got to this point.

With a hard salary cap you cant pay a DT 19 mil a year. Especially when we are already paying Staff and Calvin. The Lions offered him 17 mil a year and 58 mil guaranteed. I really never thought they would resign him. I dont really think he ever wanted to be here,

Fairley only scheduled to make 5.4 mil this year. Nahhhhhh....lets decline that option so we can have no dts and be forced to offer him more. Complete jackasses lmao....

right. Essentially, by the Lions not being able to lock Suh into a contract combined with declining the 5th year option of Fairley they GAVE Suh and Fairley great leverage and they had none. BRILLIANT!

Agree...Hopefully we learn and get Levy locked in!

Who cares about Fairly the guy has yet to play a 16 game season...You fools are talking Fairley when we just lost the best DT in football...SMH

If you're great at what you do, you make it work...Didn't happen in Detroit, meaning somebody isn't great at what they do.
