Mortensen reporting Suh to Dolphins

Who cares about Fairly the guy has yet to play a 16 game season...You fools are talking Fairley when we just lost the best DT in football...SMH

His point, which should be well taken by the guys willing to trade a future hall of famer for some cap space, is whatever scrub we sign to replace him we'll have to overpay because we are desperate!

Fairley was the 2nd best DT on the team. Management knew there was a good chance they were going to lose Suh. They had the opportunity to lock their 2nd best DT up for the 2015 season and they failed to do so. Now it appears they are going to lose the best player on the team, the other starting DT is a FA because of mis-management and the 3rd best DT is also a FA. This is why we are talking about Fairley too.

Disagree...If we weren't willing to overpay or what proved to be market value for the best DT in the game, I sure in hell don't think we'll over pay for some scrub to replace him. Time will tell what we do but I don't think we "overpay" for a replacement.

No, it's not trade a future hall of famer for cap space. There are other factors. Can't have two contracts like suh's and we already have one in calvin.

Fairly is a bum, a 1st round bust...If we lose him, oh well.

The majority of this board agreed with Mayew on not exercising the final year of Fairly contract. What the hell did he do for you to change your mind? He got injured like usual, I'm completely okay with moving on from him. Suh, I'm not!

If you're great at what you do you figure it out...

That's the stupidest thought process ever. Hey anyone want to answer me this? If suh is as great as everyone is saying why weren't all teams lining up with Miami money? He had the Chargers, Oakland, and Miami. Wowwwwww teams sure wanted this guy, where's New England, the Giants, the Bears, Green Bay, seattle, Denver? Where are all these contenders at? Or big market cities? Why no offers? I'm really confused.

I googled "top NFL free agents by position"

The first article I came across that listed them had this order for DTs

1 Suh
2 Fairley
3 Terrance Knighton
4 Dan Williams
5 Jared Odrick
6 Stephen Paea
7 C.J. Mosley
8 Henry Melton
9 Vince Wilfork
10 Darnell Dockett (signed)

Couldn't agree more. Now he's our savior.

All locking up their own Suhs.

So, what's next? Switch to a 3-4? If so, move up in the draft to take Shelton? Or stay with the 4-3 and move up in the 1st round to draft Leonard Williams? This pretty much cemented us taking a DT in the 1st round, so do we go all in on one or the other top DTs in the draft, or do we draft a second tier guy later in the 1st round or later on in the draft. With all the build up to the Suh deal, I'm over it. The Lions made a good offer, and Suh did what most of us expected. Fuck him. Hope Detroit does well, and Miami stays mediocre. It's finally over with, let's move on.

Now, their strength is their LB corps. I think they should go to a 3-4. Take some D linemen in the draft & FA that fit that scheme and move along.

And we'll still paying Houston, lmao.

That's all part of football...I'm sure every NFL team has a player this upcoming season on their books that won't be on their roster. Now how much is a different story.
