Mortensen reporting Suh to Dolphins

And also aren't paying him 20 mil. A year for the next 6 years....

The point is, Mayhew fucked up. Instead of a franchise we get nothing. And now we probably have to overpay a DT, like Fairley. Okay, so we knew for awhile. I'd take him at top 5 salary for 1 year.

so, what's next? Switch to a 3-4? If so, move up in the draft to take shelton? Or stay with the 4-3 and move up in the 1st round to draft leonard williams? This pretty much cemented us taking a dt in the 1st round, so do we go all in on one or the other top dts in the draft, or do we draft a second tier guy later in the 1st round or later on in the draft. With all the build up to the suh deal, i'm over it. The lions made a good offer, and suh did what most of us expected. Fuck him. Hope detroit does well, and miami stays mediocre. It's finally over with, let's move on.

Now, their strength is their LB corps. I think they should go to a 3-4. Take some D linemen in the draft & FA that fit that scheme and move along.

Ngata would be awesome. Familiarity with Austin will get him here. I think it happens, and soon

People are forgetting...At $19mil Mia isn't only getting the #1 DT in the game but they also landed a back up kicker!

Yes mayhew fucked up with the restructures. I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing because chemo really wanted to give suh that contract. There is no way Mitch, you know it. There was no way possible the lions could pay suh that money and still have a field able team. It would have to be gutted from the inside out to keep him, cal, and staff as is.

Let's go your route:

Now that the Lions tried to be big shots and tell everyone what they *cough* offer Suh - 17 and 58 - how much do you think Ngata's agent is going to want. Now you trade Suh for a guy with more wear, injured, with a PED ban for 2 million per year in savings. These guys are an actual clown show.

How many playoff games did the lions win with Suh? What has he done to deserve a raise from his already very expensive contract?

How many playoff wins did the Lions win with Barry Sanders. Fuck Barry, useless mofo.

K, are you against trading up for 1 or the top 2 dts in the draft?

Seriously are you actually trying to have me figure out the mess Mayhew has gotten himself into? What's next my plan win the Millennium Prize for solving the Riemann Hypothesis? Trade up for another tight end for all I care, whatever hastens Mayhew's eventual demise.

I didn't think that's what he meant about giving Suh 114 + 60. Maybe I read it wrong..

Nope you read it right. That was the last resort but hey apparently the front office brain trust were going to give him $XXX + 58 what's an extra $2 million? Another Reggie Bush sign and cut?
