MSU basektball recruiting

Glad Swanigan ended up at Purdue, if he had gone to UK or Cal it would have reeked of payoffs. Kid stayed home and his guardian has ties to Purdue. Still a strange recruitment, but I'd rather see him in the Big Ten than not.

Purdue is going to be massive next year. Hammond goes 7-0, 270, that other big guy is 7-2, 300. And Swanigan is 6-8, 265.

Has he signed an LOI? If not, maybe the story isn't over...

May 20th was the deadline to sign a LOI I think, but who knows. Once again, the middle men doom Izzo's recruiting efforts. Swanigan was sold on MSU, but his agent guardian had other plans for him. I think what these handlers want is access to the program, Izzo isn't about to let an NBA agent start snooping around his players.

I was mostly kidding and was thinking if it wasn't over, then it would most likely be some shady guy like Calipari or Self that would end up buying - I mean "selling" him on their program...

Josh Langford visited MSU today.

Hilarious thing is some screwed up their tweet about it and said he was visiting UM and several of their insider then spread the rumor that he was on commit watch. LOL, I hope the weasels and their fanboys never change.

he spent 3 days at MSU, his parents loved MSU, up to langford though

it's a couple days old - surprised nobody's posted it:

Jamal Murray commits to Kentucky. Reclassified to 2015. So much for that 2 school race between MSU and dook...

Who said it was a 2 school race between MSU and Duke?

Murray is one of the 2 or 3 best players in the class from what I've seen, and he's a John Wall clone. Will be a 1 and done and top 5 pick.

I thought you did...

Crystal Ball crew is inaccurate for basketball and this is a two school race, MSU and Duke with MSU still leading.

Izzo really recruiting AL small forwar Josh Langford hard, been down to see him several times this season.

unless you were talking about Swanigan, but the conversation was really about Murray so I assumed you were talking about him. That's from back in Feb (p. 31).

Msu was never in the mix for him

I first heard about the kid on here back in Feb and kinda had him on the watch list. I hadn't heard anything about it since then and just noticed today that he had reclassified and committed to KY on Wednesday. had to go back and look for it but the conversation on here back in february seemed to indicate we were one of his top choices. Vaguely remembered hearing chatter here so I was kinda surprised he chose KY (don't know why any kid choosing KY would still surprise me) - the details were hazy so had to go back a bit - starts on p 31 w/ Sbee mentioning him (maybe the convo goes back further, but that's the most recent talk about him here).

It's interesting that we did offer him a scholarship and we're still very much in it for Biggie Swanigain, maybe we're anticipating some roster attrition
He visited on the 21st. Im not getting my hopes up because its between us and Kentucky as of right now. The "crystal ball" crew has us at an 80% chance.

Michigan State 80% Kentucky 10% Louisville 5% Arizona 5%

Nice try, it was clear I was talking about Swanigan, guess he went to Purdue though.

I wasn't trying anything. Read the conversation from the beginning, it's about Murray and sbee only mentions Swanigan by name once, as an aside while talking about Murray. Nobody else mentions swanigan by name. So it's not at all clear that you were talking about Swanigan using pronouns in a conversation about Murray. And you don't have to be so defensive, this isn't a big "gotcha".

Caleb Swannigan was visiting us for the 7th time during last night's win over Purdue. Definitely could not have asked for a better environment. The crowd was going nuts and they all stayed for the senior day ceremony afterwards.

We put our best foot forward last night, that's for sure. To see our big men shut down the monster big men from Purdue based on heart and effort had to make an impression. That was a heck of an emotional win.

Haha, went back and started reading this thread to see what all the fuss was about and found this post. This has to be the most ironic post ever!

Im surprised he wasnt bumped to a 5 star aften that dropping 30 in that nike game. I think we offered him but he never made a visit as far as I know. hope we get miles bridges, hes absolutely explosive. Its toO bad swanigan didnt stay, I love have a pure post up type of big body under the basket.

Brian Bowen is leaving Arthur Hill to play his last year in California. He was said to be a gimme and heading to MSU but moving there doesnt bode well for us.

It looks like he's playing at La Lumiere in Indiana. It's out of state but still in the region. Some of my cousins went there - it's not a big school and I don't ever recall them being really competitive in sports. Seems like an odd choice - but maybe things have changed since then.
