MSU conference tournament thread

Not much new here really. I should have expected it. Big Ten teams get screwed on a nearly yearly basis now with this stuff. Just wish the committee would be consistent in their criteria. One year it's overall body of work (so lack of Q1 wins worked against us last year), then the next year they just cherry picks certain things or use different criteria altogether.

Oh well, this team has defied the odds all year. Bring on Duke, dammit, if we can get to that point.

None of Virginia, UNC or Gonzaga deserves to be a #1 over Michigan State.

That said fuck it.

If the Spartans out last Michigan I’ll root for them to go all the way, just like I used to in the bad old days, before the Internet taught me that that was evil.

the internet is chock full of misinformation...

I am rooting for them too.

I think they should've been a 1, and if not a 1, should not have been in the same bracket with Duke.

I also think they're one of the deepest teams ever, and their avg. player is better and more experienced than Duke's avg. player, but Zion is just so good, I think it would be a crap shoot who wins. I'd love it if MSU knocked them off, then lost to us in the Final Four.

We have an easy 1 seed, but the rest of our bracket is tough, and the way we lost to MSU concerns me... if our offense slows down we don't have a guy this year who can get buckets as easily as Wagner did for us last year.

I thought Matthews was going to be that guy - I didn't watch as much uofm hoops as I normally do this year and I know he missed a few games but seems like he was very streaky all year. And Poole seems to be a massive disappointment as well - a kid throwing away tons of talent because he's a punk, kind of like Sean Higgins. Teske had a much better game y'day than in the previous two but he's not going to carry the team, particularly in Beilein's offense.
