MSU Football recruiting

Abdul Adams might be looking around, going to visit Maryland. Hope he stays committed

Here's why you have to take the ranking with a grain of salt people. George Hill was ranked around 60th in the country while committed to OSU, he decommitted from them October 14th, on the 15th he gets dropped to 125th, he's averaging 10 yards a carry this season. They don't even make an effort to make it look unbiased. It has the cumulative effect of skewing the perception of talent throughout college football when this stuff happens over and over and over.

what service did that?

I hate to be the guy who says this but there's a good chance he might not qualify and end up going juco.

The thing that sucks is we had to pass on Khalid Kareem because we were full for defensive linemen

He's visiting Ole Miss, but might end up going the JUCO route. I thought he was underrated, he weighed in at 325 lbs at a camp, but plays like a 260 lb DE, just has a great get off.

Abdul Adams might end up going to Marshall, some things changed with him when he moved away from home for his senior year of high school. And Jonah Morris wants to play WR and is close to an OSU offer.

As far as replacements for Jones, Prince Sammons is someone to keep your eye on, he's a huge D line prospect with the flexibility to play DT.

Jonah Morris, and Abdul Adams have officially decommitted. Adams wants to stay close to home and will commit to Maryland.

George Hill is replacing Adams as our RB commit in this class. Hopefully Daelin Hayes replaces Morris, we made his final 3 with ND and OSU and he's visiting this weekend for an official.

If these changes materialize then we really didnt lose anything. Hope thats the case.

I heard that this was coming. shocking that someone would commit to Maryland now

What are the factors/factor that makes jones not qualify? ACT or grades?

No idea if that's even it. But it's been suggested by more than one if the writers in 247. Maybe he just wants to okay in the SEC, he's visiting Ole Miss.

Would love to see us land Hill, Corley, Hayes, and Bolles.

The admissions at Ole Miss are essentially open enrollment. He isnt a resident but this gives you an idea.

For Mississippi residents, admission is automatic if you complete the college preparatory curriculum (CPC) with a GPA of at least 3.2, or complete the CPC with at least a 2.50 and get a minimum 16 ACT composite score or 760 SAT score (Critical Reading and Math), or complete the CPC with a 2.00 and get a minimum 18 ACT

For athletes the NCAA has clearinghouse standards that all schools adhere to. It's like a 2.0 or an 18 on the ACT. Only northwestern and Stanford have higher standards. But what Ole Miss does do is steer players to a JUCO they are right with and then he transfers in.

Good luck to the kid, he's a great prospect.

Jonah Morris tweeted he dis not recommit. Offer pulled?

Here's what one person says is the scoop on the 3 decommits.

Jones has a "handler" who encouraged him to take other visits, based on the way it was handled the staff wasn't going to let him. Jones will not be part of the class.

Adams had to leave Maryland to go to high school in North Carolina because of grades, he then got really home sick and decided he wants to play close to home, Maryland looks like they'll land him. Kid has offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Miami and he's going to pick Maryland.

Morris might still end up a part of the class, but he wants to take visits first, the staff pulled his offer, but might re-extend it after those visits. Morris loves MSU, but he might be looking for an OSU offer, that's why the staff probably pulled his offer. 6-4, 195 LBs who run a 4.37 forty don't grow on trees. He's also expressed more of an interest in playing WR.

I think he just wants to open it up and take more visits. I think he ends up here if he doesn't get an offer from OSU, if he does, we don't have much of a chance

Naquan Jones was quoted as saying he is taking an official visit to MSU and he still has MSU as his #1 choice, he just wanted to be able to take other visits to be sure. Still, it's 50-50 at best that he ends up in the class.

Messiah DeWeaver was quoted as saying he and 4 other members of the class are enrolling early at MSU this January.

I call BS, he aint a comin back. Kind of like telling a girl you still love them and "just need some time" after you terminated the relationship.
