MSU Football recruiting

The recent ranking updates for Scout and Rivals have been good to MSU recruits, we now have 10 four stars on Rivals and 247, and 11 four stars on Scout. 8 composite 4 stars and that number should grow with their next recalculation. The class is likely to add 2-4 more 4 star recruits.

Should end up top 15 in the country, with a chance at top 10.

it's always a wild finish, i bet we end up with some talented kids that aren't even on our radar. were we talking about the dowell twins or cassius peat at this time last year?

No doubt. The thing I really like about the class is that they still all seem like the same old Dantonio recruits, our staff took their time with each of them. Our staff was honest and up front with them and made darn sure that they vetted these kids properly. Our staff, as usual, also told many recruits to go home and make sure they are sure many times. There are a ton of honors students in this class, a ton of team captains, and a ton of kids that are strong leaders. And I still feel like we're getting some grossly underrated kids. Naquan Jones, Cam Chambers, Auston Robertson, and Josh King are all top 50 players who aren't getting their due for one reason or another. Naquan Jones is a bigger, more athletic, and more sudden version of Craig Evans. Cam Chambers would have been a 5 star, but he committed to us very early and thus the buzz around him as a recruit waned. Josh King was pushing top 50, but missed some games this season. And Robertson also missed some games, but is an absolute athletic freak, he's got Zoggy Ansah measurables.

I still expect these players to out perform their rankings like the ones that came before them.

4 star RB/Ath George Hill is announcing this Friday at 7pm. Would be shocking if he didn't pick MSU. #124 overall player in the country.

there are some honor students but I wouldn't put King and Robertson in that category, I've heard that both may have issues qualifying.

Did Hill just say that he was announcing? there were some concerns about Pitt and Wisconsin, I'd be surprised if he didn't end up picking MSU, he's a beast, he was ranked #60 and then dropped 50 spots when he decommitted from OSU, shows how dumb the rankings are sometimes

George Hill is announcing Friday evening at 7, Pitt is our only threat, but it looks good for us. Yeah, Hill was pushing 5 star and then word got out that he might decommitt and he immediately dropped like 75 spots, you can follow his rating on 247 and see it drop like a rock within days of his decommitt. He's a speed back, runs a 10.7 100 meters, but has some size at 6-0, 205 lbs. he averaged almost 10 yards a carry this season. Funny, but OSU fans all we're saying he was better than LJ Scott for years and now they say he's overrated.

To give you an idea about Robertson, at 6-5, 260 lbs, he returned kicks for his team and took on for a TD this season. He's a little raw, but he's a total freak athlete.

Mike Panusiak is now a composite 4 star giving us 9 composite 4 stars so far.

Word is Narduzzi is swiping George Hill from us today. Wow, great pickup for Pitt. 2pm announcement. Hill was considered a lock to MSU, but Pitt got his last visit last weekend.

Corley announcing saturday, finalist are MSU, UM, OSU, and TN. He was close to committing to MSU earlier, coach D told him to take his time, anyone's guess now.

He's down to OSU and MSU. Levert Hill is now not announcing with him as he is visiting Clemson soon. This was a lock for a while, but he had a great visit to OSU a month ago so now it's a tossup.

All indications are that Hill will pick Michigan, he jumped at the first big time offer he got with PSU, maybe it took him a while to warm up to Harbaugh, who knows? his twitter is very pro UM

Hearing good things regarding Corley to MSU. We shall see Saturday. I was 99% sure for quite a while, but Ohio State came into the picture late and word was it was a tossup, but now the buzz is that Ohio State is moving on.

I actually like Corley better as a corner, but the staff will figure it out.

Cam Chambers has had a nice week of practice at the Army Bowl, showing he's a good route runner and has better speed than advertised. There's a reason he was a top 50 player before his junior season. 6-2, over 200 lbs with 4.5 speed and huge hands with long arms.

I thought OSU might be more attractive with the mass exodus of players and promise of early playing time. I know he could earn early playing time at OSU but that was more of a unique selling feature for us before. Not 100% sure if Chambers is enrolling early but going through spring practice would be huge for these guys

Chambers in enrolling early, so is Corley.

Mufi Hunt is also enrolled and he showed up to campus weighing 260 lbs after several months of lifting weights for the 1st time in his life. I'm sure he got a workout routine from Coach Mannie.

Thiyo Lukasa, Messiah DeWeaver, Joe Bachie, and Kennie Lyke are also early enrollees.

January 22nd and 23rd is the last big recruiting weekend for MSU before signing day. We'll have several top targets and commits on hand and they'll attend the MSU vs Maryland basketball game. Targets OT Matt Farniok, CB Lavert Hill, and DT (4 star PSU commit)Karamo Dioubate will be on official visits. Commits Josh King and Justin Layne will also be taking their officials visits. All the 6 or 7 early enrollees will be there too.

With Karamo Dioubate, I think the staff looks at Panasiuk as an OG and wants to add another DT to the class, but I'm sure some will speculate that Naquan Jones might not qualify.

Gameday will be in EL, just announced. I'm surprised Hill is coming for that, I bet he backs out, he's most likely blue. There are rumors or Robertson wavering or at least being the most likely to jump ship. There will be a lot of movement in the next few weeks, we ended up with Peat and the Dowell twins and none of them were being spoken about as possible MSU commits at this time last year.

Have not heard that about Robertson, I think he sticks in this class. With it looking like Clemens, Knox, and Davis all will be getting a 6th year, this class got smaller, might only be room for 2-3 more. I think Corley and an O lineman for sure, then maybe Hill or a RB. Lavert Hill's recruitment is a strange one, he wants to visit Clemson now and is going to announce on signing day. UM will likely already have 4 corners committed after the weekend, although they might pull an offer or two for lower rated guys. Hill is no lock to go to UM.

Corley is announcing sometime today during the game. Rivals osu mod says he picks msu, msu mods making the same prediction saying it's down to those two schools

Until he signs I won't consider him a commit. He's taken the circus route his whole recruitment and I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled another twist today like delaying again or even picking a school that we don't even know he's considering.
