MSU Football recruiting

I agree, could work the other way though I haven't heard anything about any of our guys wavering

No one is wavering, sounds like the only issue is Naquan Jones may have to take a summer class to qualify. Recruiting is so much about momentum, Penn State had a fantastic class going, and then a couple coaches leave, the QB craps on Franklin on his way out by not thanking him, a couple recruits dump on Penn State's recruiting, and whammo, it's a downward spiral and guys are looking around in droves. And other schools' staffs are all too happy to point out how Franklin is on the hot seat and will likely be gone after next season if he doesn't pull a rabbit out of a hat.

if it weren't for the bulk of Penn State fans happily excusing the serial child rape that was only possible because of Penn State Football being a cult you'd almost feel sorry for them.

Miles Sanders news, he has taken down PennState commit from his Twitter page, and he followed a bunch of MSU players and commits today. Might be visiting next weekend.

Edit: rumblings that Sanders is decommitted good tomorrow and is l likely to flip to MSU. This is a solitary huge, he's the #1 back in the country on a site and when they rerank in a couple weeks he'll be #1 on all of them. The perfect complement to the power backs we have. 5-11, 200 lbs and runs a 4.3 forty.

Holy shit.

Zero chance we get Sanders.

UM commit, Michael Onwenu, is taking an official visit to MSU after receiving an offer today. We have a chance to flip him, his sister goes to MSU and he's good friends with Demetric Vance, and Donnie Corley. Might stay with UM, but he wouldn't be taking an official this late in the process if he wasn't interested.

Not so sure that would be a flip. He just had his visit with Michigan this past weekend and now suddenly gets an MSU offer. Sounds more to me like Michigan may have told him to look. Maybe not, but it's just as credible as the "experts".

Nah, they want him in their class, he visited MSU for the Oregon game too. We just offered him today, and now he is taking an official. I think we have been in contact and offered when we missed on someone else.

UM Commit, Kiante Enis, also taking an official visit to MSU. 3 star RB with 4.3 speed, Harbaugh must like someone better though because they are pushing him out of the class.

Would be a big pickup, you're always nervous if one of your guys takes a visit this late. I'm sure there is interest on both ends at some level

New Rivals 250 and team rankings came out today. We have 8 players in the Rivals 250, King #55 and Corley #61 being the highest. Chambers, DeWeaver, Layne, Panasiuk, Robertson, and Vance the others.

Our class is up to #11 in the country behind only OSU (#1) and UM(#6) in the Big Ten. Penn State is #17.

A strong finish and we'll have a top 10 class.

tweet from Ambry Thomas, offers from us, OSU, UM

How can you take a kids offer who has been committed to you for the longest

I'd say that you can count UM out in that recruitment

King player too. EJ Prive, Michael Onwenu, Ambry, and many others were tweeting about what they did to Swenson all day yesterday.

They only have one commit from Michigan and he's taking an OV to MSU this weekend

Yup, I don't think we have a good chance to flip Onwenu, but it has definitely improved in the last day as he has been tweeting about the Swenson screw job. Probably went from 10% to 25%.

Huge night for recruiting. Every commit on value save for Robertson who couldn't make it.

Targets Lavert Hill, Michael Onwenu, Luke Campbell are here. From 2017, Ambry Thomas, Donovan Peoples-Jones and many others. Word is there are a few secret visitors on hand who are committed to other schools. Been hinted a lineman from Wisconsin.

Former Purdue commit, OT Luke Campbell committeD to MSU today. 4 star in Scout, 3 star elsewhere, had a huge senior season and shot up our board. 6-4, 275.

Word is we might have gotten 3 commits this weekend, another 2016 commit and one from 2017.

I'd have to guess Ambry Thomas for 2017, peoples Jones won't pop for a while.

PA 4 star DT Karamo Diubate is taking an official visit to MSU right now. Former PSu commit, who couldn't make it up this past weekend because of a death in the family. We have a good shot to land him, but he is a Temple lean because he might want to stay close to home.

Lavert Hill is a story of competing sources right now. UM sources say he's trending their way. MSU sources are saying if he had to decide right now, he'd be Green. His dad is a huge MSU fan, his godfather, who has been going on visits with him is a huge MSU fan too. We'll see.

Prince Sammons is a heavy MSU lean now, he is visiting Auburn this wekend, but it seems he just wants to be sure and proximity to Ohio is a factor for him.

Austen Robertson has taken care of his off the field issues enough to at least play in the International Bowl this weekend, and he showed up repping MSU hard. Good sign.

Naquan Jones says his grades are up to snuff and is looking forward to being a Spartan.

Diubate went from 5% to 50/50 with the mid week visit.

Hill canceled his Clemson visit which is a good thing. Some say with him it's I'd he wants to play with his friend or his brother for a year but I think it's a lot more than that.

I like our chances with sammons, we've killed it in cincy lately. His recruitment has been close to the vest but I love Barnett as the lead guy there
