My way too early yardage prediction thread

I'm talking about the Lions "accepting" mediocrity and not caring about winning. Absolute bullshit. The Lions want to win and you have no right saying otherwise. You can ban yourself from games, merchandise or whatever but saying they don't care about winning is bs and you know it.

fair enough. I get your point and it is speculative on my part. however, when the old man (God rest his soul) admitted he hates the business side of the game it raised a red flag or maybe a white one. it is of my opinion as an owner, he has the obligation to the fans to put the best football business people in place to secure a viable product. instead, his loyalty to average front office people says otherwise. lewand has failed time and time again.

Bro, I feel your pain. We all do!! lol. But we have to believe that they're trying to put out a killer team. We have so much talent but for some reason they can't harness it. Players like Barry, Calvin, Porcher, Moore and no rings? Shameful...

Don't worry..I'll flip the attitude once the season starts. Last year left a real foul taste in my mouth. Worse year ever for me. They had it in the bag and totally choked. I can't wait to see Ebron and especially Van Noy. Warford and Slay could be real good as well. They have the potential to be the greatest show on turf. Lots of weapons. Van Noy is going to help our secondary out as well. He is a stud. Opposing teams will have to beat us deep.

It's all about Stafford. The Lions will be as good as he is. Just hoping the extra work on his fundamentals this offseason pay off. I've got a hunch that it will. Honestly think the sky is the limit with this team.

It comes down to health. We need to be above average to elite in WR/Oline/TE/RB to be successful.

Stafford has lived without a running game before. See 2011

Titus/Burleson/Pettigrew/Calvin all stayed healthy though in 2011. That hasn't happened since 2011.

2-3 games is one player is one thing, 9 for Burleson on top of 6 for Young and 4 for Pettigrew is another story in 2012. No rum game except 80 carries for Bell in 2012.

Calvin 2 plus banged up all year, Burleson 7, Broyles 8 and Pettigrew 2 and Bush 2.5 is another thing too. 5 terrible running days in 2013 as well.

Basically everyone can't get hurt like the past 2 years.

Oh they need to learn how to deal with injuries like... Every other team in the NFL?

Calvin missed a lousy two games, Nate put up better stats when he missed games, Pettigrew sucks ass half the time and Titus is mental..and Broyles, he hasn't done jack shit..healthy or not he blows.

Wasn't just injuries. Concentrated injuries to his weapons. Secondly he didn't get the turnover support or a good run game (5 games he didn't get that either). That's how you deal with weapon injuries. Stafford can't do it all himself. Considering the injuries, Stafford did do well.

Off to catch WC game. Catch you guys tomorrow.

So Stafford was screwed regardless and still had good yardage, 3rd downs and TDs.

That is my point. People need to be healthy. This team can't overcome injuries.

Even 2011 they finished 5-7 over their last 12, not like they were an elite team.

Learn to read and comprehend. That's one of your problems..

I read and comprehend just fine. You people are the ones putting words in my mouth.

Stafford despite his flaws is a very good QB. Get it through your thick skulls.

Thick skulls? Good quarterbacks win important games. They arent THE reason their teams collapse and miss the playoffs. If the Lions would've made the playoffs last year it would've been in spite of Stafford.

Are you kidding me? Stafford is the biggest reason they were in playoff contention in the first place. He had a GW drive against the Ravens and Bucs snatched away by a miracle FG and Calvin drop/pick. He was only one playing in the 4th against Pittsburgh. Not his fault he played in a blizzard negating BOTH QBs in Philly. He had a 92 rating in the 2 games without Calvin without run support i either game or pass protection (5 sacks each game) in those games.

He didn't miss the three FGS in the Zona/Cincy games either. In fact he put them in position to kick those FGs.

they cant. mayhew blew his wad on 3 guys which has handcuffed the team and they have no depth. as soon as just a couple injuries happen were playing the likes of carey, bert and ernie. Its a joke....

Carey is fine as a safety. See 2012. Nickel CB is where he struggled (other than at Chi game) and that was due to Bentley hurt and Mathis playing for Slay(Pittsburgh) and Mathis hurt the other game (Giants game). It took two injuries to get him on the field at nickel.

I'm informed. You either have no memory or can't asses football properly.

Stafford does just enough to lose games. Does his record say otherwise? He loses games, that's exactly what he does, every season. Until he becomes a "WINNING" qb, he isn't shit!!!
