My way too early yardage prediction thread

What team in the NFL besides Jacksonville isn't loaded with talent? So freaking sick of hearing that. Every fan base can speak to their oodles and oodles of potential.

Has what coaching now? Forgive me for not getting excited about Jim Caldwell, who was Plan B by the way, whether you like it or not after Wisenhunt said no thanks. When he's had head coaching jobs, other than one season where Manning basically coached himself, he's sucked. He was AWFUL at Wake Forest, and after Manning went down, he sucked. You have ZERO idea how this staff will do. Just like we all had ZERO idea how Mooch would do, or Morhenweig, or Marnelli, or Schwartz. Until they prove it, you can't speak on them.

Redkins, Rams,Bucs,Falcons defense,Bills,Dolphins,Jets,Jags,Browns,Vikings,Titans,Texans,Raiders. Plenty

And Lions have more than most other teams too.

The turnovers will be reduced and the Lions true winning ways will show through.

I have this team winning 7-8 games and a miracle to get to 10 for the playoffs, you moron. How am I a homer? lol.

So you have them winning 7-8 games, thinks Stafford needs to improve, and the secondary is a weak link..yet you don't get all the negatively? One sure cure..don't read this thread anymore.

Lions "true winning ways?" What ways would those be? You do realize they are probably the worst franchise in sports, right?

I used to have faith in this team. Probably more than I should have. I had faith renewed every year when I was about 8 years old until I hit 25. When I figured out they are just a rudderless franchise, I figured it wasn't worth the pain of getting excited about drafts, free agency, all of this INCREDIBLE TALENT. I'll get excited when they win a playoff game. Until then, there's no reason to pretend to have faith. Hell, I have more faith in the Pistons being relevant before the Lions.

Now is the time to have faith. The talent is immense on Detroit. I understand the Millen years, 90s with no QB and anything prior. But this team is much much much more talented than all of those teams combine even the 90s team that went to the playoffs 6 times in 10 years.

Don't agree with that at all. 1995 team had the likes of Barry Sanders, Brett Perriman, Herman Moore (both caught 1500 yards), Johnny Morton, Chris Spielman, Bennie Blades, Robert Porcher, Mike Johnson (80 tackles) Cory Schlesinger (probably one of the most underrated players in Lions history). To say it's much more talented than those teams are insulting to those teams from the past that, you know, were actually somewhat successful.

Fairley,Suh,Ansah,Tulloch,Levy,Quin,Slay,Mathis. I'll take that defense all day.

Stafford and Calvin and Bush. I'll take that over Barry and Moore and Perriman.

I would take Barry Sanders over Stafford and Bush by themselves.

You forgot Calvin. It's a package. Calvin, Stafford and Bush. You take those three easily.

And Ebron and Tate could do some very good things.

Really? Easily?

Okay I'll break this down for you:

Barry Sanders >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Stafford, Bush. Not even close. I think even some of those >>> can be made to cover up the gap between Calvin.

After that Calvin does not have the edge over two WRs. Moore is one of the best WRs in Lions history. He's close enough to Calvin to let Perriman bridge that gap.

Bush had 4.5 YPC. That's good, not Barry but really good. And Bush is a better receiver and Bell is better short yardage.

A QB like Stafford is huge. Stafford gets more first downs and yards than Barry can dream about. 5,000 yard season, 29 TD seasons ,41 TD seasons. He is the offense but moreso than Barry.

You take Stafford, Bush and Calvin all day over Mitchell/Kramer/Peete, Barry and Moore/Perriman.

The year the Lions went to NFC Champ game. Barry had 4.5 YPC. Same as Bush.

Barry is probably the best RB in the history of the game. Stafford and Bush aren't even in the same stratosphere.

Proof youre not a real fan. Anyone that doesn't take Barry is the worst lions fan ever. Go to the packers board please.

Barry is great. But the Lions have more talent now. I'm more of a fan than you will ever be. You are a hater douche who has no basis for your hate towards Detroit.

You're an idiot. 1995, what were you 12? Do you even remember? Did you watch tape back then..?

1995 team had some of the best players that I can remember in a Lions uniform. And they actually won some games. Novel concept, I know.

Moore can't hold Calvins jock. I'd take Tate/Ebron combo over Perriman/Morton. Plus Bush receiving. Bush 4.5 YPC. Lions would easily outscore 1995 Detroit. Especially with Scott Mitchell at QB. Most of his career is junk and not because his weapons let him down like Stafford.
