No, it's not really that difficult. I used to be that way. I was such a slappy, I got excited thinking about the possibilities after they drafted Mike Williams. I did a handstand when Joey Harrington was drafted. This team has sapped my energy, so I'll hold judgment until they produce A playoff win. A single playoff win is all I ask. Hell, I was pumped for the draft, but that energy was quickly sapped after they drafted a luxury pick in the top 10. It screamed Matt Millen all over again.

And when the season starts, you can be damn sure I'll be wearing my colors sitting in front of that TV, hopeful for another season where the Lions can succeed.

10 and playoffs can work. You can win a Super Bowl as a wildcard with 10 wins.

There are plenty of postitives to this team that you saw on the field. The talent is the only thing that matters going into a season. Underachieved in 2013, doesn't mean squat for 2014. Especially with new coaches, schemes, and added players.

Been there, done that. You are expecting different results but they always fall short. It's a culture of mediocrity. I hope they do well but they always let us down. Heck, 50 years if futility is proof enough.

They shouldn't fall short again with this talent and coaching. If they do, I'll re-think the talent then and wait for offseason changes.

they didn't out play them...they shot themselves in the foot and lost those games which is par for the course with the Lions.

I see 7-8 wins as well. Somehow get to 10 wins and we're playoff bound. Not sure where they're going to get those few extra wins, but they need to figure it out.

10-6 miss the playoffs. games im having a hard time with are ATL after all that travel and ARI. I put them both as wins ....could easily be Ls. CAR could be tough too early in the year vs their D and our offense maybe not clicking on all cylinders yet. Im picking 10 wins based on the fact no team in the NFL could possibly suck this bad every single year. If im wrong then mayhew should be fired. So either way I win.

Schwartz will pwn us. I actually like buffalo....but I always like buffalo at the start of the year...im sure they'll mess it up somehow...they are the lions of the AFC. I like their defense a lot though and spiller/Watkins should be fun to watch if their qb progresses.

On second glance this is a crazy tough schedule. I am optimistic as always but I can see real disaster if we get into one of our funks.

I agree.

To me coaching usually breeds consistency though. I look at the coaches we face and most have been consistent winners. Plus some down teams like TB should be much better. AZ we haven't won against in a minute. NY finished 'hot', just ask LKP and NYJ is likely a contender in the AFC East in my eyes.
