Next GM and Head Coach

I heard an idea maybe Kris Richard. I don't he's working now, he didn't in 2020. But was DC for Seattle '15-17 before he went to Dallas and coached there for 2 years.

More concerned with what Holmes does as GM. Without talent it doesn’t matter who’s coaching.

As long as he doesn't have 10 men on defense 3 times in 2 games or line up players to cover the sidelines on a hail mary pass I'll be happy.

Looking like Aaron Glenn for Dc..did really well with saints secondary

When will Bevell be shown the door? I sure hope they don't keep him.

UPDATE: According to Josina Anderson, Glenn is considering the Lions and two other teams. It appears a deal may not be as imminent as previously reported:

I would have NO problem keeping Bevell if Campbell gives him the green light to open up the offense. Pass to set up the run.....NOT the other way around.

I looked up the box scores of the 12 games he coached for the Dolphins in 2015. Nothing to suggest he ran the ball at a high rate except for when it seemed to be working (im going strictly by stats.....certainly haven's seen any of the game films).

Keep Bevell.....give him a couple of weapons that threaten defenses vertically. Tag Golladay so you keep a big body WR that has had success in the system. Draft a WR (Devonte Smith or Waddle), and then grab Goodwin or Ross.....there are going to be a few cheap options out there. Goodwin sat out 2020, will be 30 in the upcoming season, is not under contract and would be cheap. Ross will only be 25. Injury risk for sure.....but because of that will be extremely cheap also.

An offense that has a solid OL (need a RG or RT in FA) and skill players....

Swift
Golladay
Devonte Smith
Hockenson
John Ross
Quintez Cephus

I can see that combination of speed & skill having success in an open Bevell offense. Go defense in FA and the rest of the draft.

We aren't going to have a Super Bowl contender next year....but getting some young talent is needed on both sides of the ball. Sitting at #7....there are going to be 2 or 3 WR that warrant that selection.....but very few defenders that do. Might as well be exciting as we "re-tool".

We have 5 picks honestly would like to use those for strictly defense. I like to clean house no reason to keep Bevell, we're assuming the offense was Patty but it wasn't so why keep someone that didn't get the job done . Its still the lions so the free agents won't be plentiful on coming here.. I want more time control so "opening up" likely means the defense is getting more chance to get lit up. Lets be more consistent with 6-8 minute drives.

I agree that defense is a bigger need. No argument from me. But from a talent standpoint, at #7, we need as big an impact as possible.

Here's a list we will likely have for choices....

OFFENSE

Waddle
Devonta Smith
Ja'Marr Chase
Zach Wilson
Trey Lance

Defense

Patrick Surtain
Caleb Farley
Gregory Rousseau
Kwity Paye
Michah Parsons

The offensive players talent FAR OUTWEIGH the defensive players talent. Parsons is the exception.....i certainly wouldnt be unhappy with him. But Rousseau or Paye over Smith or Chase. Sorry. I wouldn't be ok with that. Did Paye even play this year?

Gotta take talent during a rebuild. Drafting for need is what you can do in the late teens and after.....we need TALENT!
