Writing in is a cop out too, voting for someone who's not even running. I'm sure a bunch of too cool for school millennials are going to vote for Bernie but that's just as stupid. You might as well vote for Mickey Mouse

Monica Morehead, who represents the Workers’ World Party, which wants to abolish capitalism, disarm the police and immigration officers, fight for a socialist revolution and defend the Black Lives Matter movement.

Tom Hoefling, a conservative activist from Iowa who is known primarily for his opposition to abortion, support for traditional marriage and defender of the right to keep and bear arms.

Maturen, who now is a member of the American Solidarity Party, and who describes himself as a former conservative Republican who has been transformed into a social conservative and fiscal moderate.

Cherunda Fox of Detroit. The platform for Fox, a retired state social worker, includes $400,000 each in reparations for people who can prove they are descendants of slaves, emptying all the prisons and an $8.5-trillion program to put people back to work.

I'm not abstaining because one candidate is definitely going to lose. I didn't support Trump in the primary and I don't support him now. He's not a conservative and he doesn't stand for the things I support. I'm not taking any high road (I think that's what you meant), I'm not compromising my principles, that's not the same thing as not participating in the process.

I may write in a candidate, I haven't decided yet but even if I don't, I don't really care if you think I'm not participating in the process by abstaining.

I would agree for those who are completely disengaged from the process, who refuse to educate themselves on the issues and candidates. For those who can't stomach the possibility of either candidate, making a principled stand by abstaining is a legitimate form of protest.

Personally, I will vote for every office and referendum on the ballot besides president, unless I decide to write in Cherunda Fox.

Having racist views makes you racist. Voting for Trump doesn't make you racist. I never said that voting for Hillary makes you a good person, makes no sense. I know good people that are going to vote for Trump, in my opinion I think that those people are so dyed in the wool Republican that they'd vote for the worst possible nominee the party could put forth over any Democrat. I also know assholes that are voting for Hillary, plenty of them.

My opinion is that you should vote for who you think would do the best job of running the country. Pretty plain and simple, if there isn't a traditional conservative in the race, you vote for who you think would be best and participate in the election. Mack has said many times that he thinks Trump is a better choice than Hillary, then he should vote for Trump unless he thinks Johnson or Stein are better than him. if you opt not to vote for who you think would do the best job (it has to be one of them) then you're basically being a child, saying that none are a perfect match so you won't vote.

it's actually a great analogy unless you have the maturity and political understanding of a middle schooler that's endorsing a corrupt, inept, evil scumbag and needs to justify it by desperately trying to pin Trump on anyone who despises the thought of Hillary being President. Then apparently, it's a cop out. I can't speak for Tom, but please realize I literally laugh out loud every time you say taking a stand against two objectively horrible candidates and refusing to compromise my principles is a cowardly cop out.

Since when is voting for someone you find completely unworthy of office something that "one ought to do?" I suppose you thought this was your big "gotcha" post but I have to say, this one is just dumb as the one where you tried to use the definition of "baby" to justify butchering an unborn human.

Do you feel the same way about all the down ticket races and referendums? I mean, all politics are local, right? So those races should be even more important than national races. Do you just vote straight D or do you inform yourself about every candidate and ballot referendum and vote, regardless of whether you like either outcome? Because apparently, that's what you ought to do.

That's not even true though, is it? What percentage of republicans voted, and how many voted for Trump? When all is said and done I'd be surprised if more than 15% of republicans chose him as the nominee. So say what you want about sitting out this vote, if you sat out the primary vote then the blame lies right at your feet.

I did vote in the primary and did not vote for Trump.
