Official Day 3 Draft Thread

Don't take the numbers as factual, because I really don't know where the breakpoint is for these picks. It fluctuates every year based on salary cap numbers, who got signed for what, and shit like that.

I think, if I remember right, there are 32 comp picks available every year, so they get prioritized, and it's based a lot on how much a guy signed for vs. the other guys who signed for more or less.

There really is no hard and fast rule of "you signed a guy for this much so his old team gets this pick"... it's dolled out based on the priority of every signing.

Does performance on the field factor into comp picks as well?

Total need draft so far, at least nobody can complain about that now.

If I am not mistaken, it's 100% based on salary. The more a team signs a guy for, the better the chances of his former team getting a pick.

By the way, I would be fine with Ifo at any point here. Right territory for him at this point.

Gotcha! I wasn't sure. Thanks!

So basically a 3rd for Suh and no worse than a 5th for Fairley? Guesstimating of course lol

We will get the first comp pick available for Suh because he signed for the most money anyone ever has, more or less.

From what I read, the escalators in Fairley's deal are actually really easy to hit, so he's going to be near $8MM for next year I would guess. That should, based on the contracts I saw, put him around a later 3rd, maybe a 4th.

The Revis signing may push him around a bit, but there weren't a lot of huge money deals this season.

Turning out to be pretty solid though. I just have to get on board with the Abdullah pick lol

You'll be on board quick Tony, just wait til you see him play behind our revamped line.

I really only wanted one player in this entire draft, and that was him. Ameer is going to wow you.

Beauty. My buddy was telling me last night that he read an article that we will probably have 10 picks next year. :)

I never questioned his ability, bro. Just his fumbles scare the hell out of me. We just dumped a guy (Bush) for one of those reasons.

Well, we just gave one away for Wright, so 9 now. But it's highly likely that we will have picks to spare, on top of cap room to spare for next season.

I wouldn't mind giving up a 4th rounder next year to be able to move up again and take another impact kid like Ifo or Bennet at this point.

Bud, I'm serious, go look at the 4 fumbles he had this year. The number is misleading.

He had one stripped from him when his O-line broke down against Beagle. Yep, he lost that ball... when his O-line let a DE come through untouched and hit him behind the line in a great D play.

He had 3 fumbled on bad handoffs from his QB. Not his fault at all, the QB bobbled the handoff.

He worked hard before his senior year to reduce the fumbles, and he did. HIs fumbles should not be a concern at this point.

Any of you Spartys pissed about langford to da bears?

I am. I really thought he fit our scheme well. Has a HR gear that Bell, or Abdullah, doesn't have.

Chicago is a great spot for a RB.....Forte on his last legs.

I hope he plays 14 great games a year

Omg jake ryan to the Pack. Noooooo! Good for him, but fuck!

Did we give up a 5th next year for Wright?

Hard to believe Bennett is still on the board. Ifo too

And btw, this tv coverage of day 3 sucks so hard. Bored out of my mind.
