OFFICIAL: Draft Day (Day One-Three)

why do you guys think Mayhew is looking at replacing Raiola? Raiola is Mayhew's butt friend. He'll be here until he retires.

Oh weird....steelers do something smart, we do something stupid. Woulda never thunk it...

I dont get it. Broyles would have been there in the third. I wasnt high on much of the DBs at this point of the draft but still how is this immediately helpful.

Ryan Broyles - WR - Lions
Lions selected Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles with the No. 54 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
The NCAA's all-time leader in receptions with 349, Broyles is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in November. Broyles was an excellent after-the-catch runner for the Sooners, but at just 5-foot-10, will most likely be limited to slot duties early on for the Lions. Although he "hopes" to be ready for football activities by May, it's not outside the realm of possibility he begins the year on the PUP list. Whenever he gets on the field, he'll be someone to monitor closely in PPR leagues. Broyles' selection could have meant the end of Nate Burleson's time in the Motor City, but Burleson is most likely safe for one more year after restructuring his contract.

2012 NFL Draft Individual Grades:

23. Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa: A+ Grade
History repeats itself. Two years ago, Iowa tackle Bryan Bulaga was a top-10 prospect who dropped to the 20s. That pick worked out really well, and I'll be shocked if the Lions don't have similar success with Riley Reiff. Detroit really needed a tackle to protect Matthew Stafford, and Reiff was the best player on the board. Great move.

54. Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma: B Grade
Hmm... maybe the Vikings should have drafted Morris Claiborne after all. This is crazy. If Ryan Broyles pans out, how are teams going to stop their offense? Broyles, if healthy, should be a good player for Matthew Stafford, who will need someone to throw to once Calvin Johnson suffers from the Madden Curse. I have to wonder though, why not improve the defense? I feel like there were better prospects available, but I don't have a problem with this selection.

One thing I will say about the kid. He has above average hands, runs pretty clean routes and is used to a high tempo passing offense like we run.
