Offseason Needs / 2013

More I think about it, for number 2 -- Jonny Gomes. His numbers against LHP have been impressive.

I kind of agree. I was thinking about him and the other two players.....ross and victorino?
and gomes was probably the only one that would agree to a 1 year deal if it came down to them.
Watching him through the years, I also get the feeling he is a semi-nutjob, but one of those "fire' guys, hollering rah types,
without checking UZR etc. only caveat, is his defense, imo.

Power guy that can hit for average though doesn't walk much. At least from the link. I guess I'm outta of tune with the NL because I've never heard of him until now.

he's also pretty awful in the field, hes more of a 1B type than an OF anymore. id pass.

ESPN doesn't even have a clue that Castellanos will play LF, at least he's being groomed for it. I hate when writers insist he's being blocked.

Even if Castellanos was blocked, the Tigers could include him in a package to get a player who is actually good.

well, he's a defensive wizard but below average offensively, and he's not a star...so why in the hell would we trade 2 of our top prospects for jj hardy and jim johnson? thats beyond stupid. shoenfield should be ashamed of himself for suggesting something so ridiculously fucking dumb.

Worst deal I've seen proposed. I find it especially comical when you consider that weak package he suggested could get Stanton right above it. Rays make a weak offer and get Stanton meanwhile the Tigers trade their top prospect and some other decent guys and get JJ Hardy....wow.

It really is laughable.

Can't tell whats worse, that he actually wrote that, or that he's actually paid to analyze baseball.

Yeah Verlander and and Max straight up for hardy... maybe we can get the O's to throw someone else in on the deal.. does it matter... We will beat the Yankees again on our way to the WS only to get crushed again... (oh wait i told Ron a month back that the tigers are poised to win three WS in row starting next year!!!!!!) Man the wolverines have me pissed today still...
