Petti

Young played 771 snaps and produced 3 sacks, 4 TFL and 11 solo tackles (18 assists too).

Not sure I'm gonna miss all that "production"!

Are you blind or just retarded? No one cares about Willie Young. Since you brought him up:

Willie young was the third most disruptive DE in the NFL last year. 48 hurries.

But Young is a long, rangy end who was good against the run and showed improvement. That he went to one of Detroit's top rivals, Chicago, adds to the significance because the Lions will see him at least twice a year.

Yeah I'd feel better if he was here.

Taylor has the size/speed but had trouble when given more responsibility at SC. That was his knock and why he fell to the 4th. I'd feel much better with some insurance there, that is why Hughes was harping for Peppers and I tend to agree. Maybe the draft will help, who knows?

My thoughts on Taylor, Tony.

You're right. Taylor did drop in the draft. Word was out that his work ethic was poor and he should have been better with Clowney on the other side. Not one bad word so far out of Detroit though. This kid will work himself into a starting role in Detroit IMO.

Certainly deserves to be involved in the rotation. Starting? Well I guess we'll find out, makes me pretty uneasy. If I was a D-Coordinator I know who I'd be testing with the run or leaving as a one on one.

If youre going into the draft knowing you need 4 starters....that's not a good position to put yourself in. Especially since 1 is DE and we had one of the worst pass rushing dlines in the nfl last year. The other is safety....and we had one of the worst secondarys in the nfl last year. Teams should atleast attempt to address their needs in FA.....and while I agree that WR was an immediate need.....that's seemed like an obvious position to draft since its a deep wr class. It was also a very talented FA pool at safety and DE....2 of the more important needs on this team. And we got nothing....the closest we got to something was some mid tier safety saying "ya I kinda want to be a lion but I have representation issues"....wow....yippie...

DE is a tough position to draft this year where were at....ur basically reaching for one at 10 that isn't a good fit in Barr. Or penciling in some rd 2 DE as your immediate starter?....not ideal. Same with safety. HHCD/Pryor seem to be a slight reach at 10. So, do we draft one later and pencil in a rd 2 or rd 3 safety at starter??? ballsy...

Speaking of draft Hughes you're up in the DSF round two mock.

Me I love Tate, I think he was a great get. But these holes are undeniable and to say the draft is going to cure everything is nuts. 1 immediate starter in the draft is considered good, a draft like last year with 4-5 contributors is extremely hard to repeat for even the best GM.

They'll be forced to...and they'll be forced to start cause they have no competition. Thats if they draft need....this isn't our first rodeo....mayhew could pick a rd 2 4th string wr with no knees for all we know.
