do you think that the contracts of good/great players just suddenly drop when entering the prime of their career? did Mayhew overpay to extend? probably, but what other options were there?

Do you think paying a bottom 15 qb top 5 money is the right decision for a franchise? Do you think paying a DT 22 million is EVER a smart decision? Calvin is the only one of the 3 worth his money and that's mainly cause of schematic advantages we gain having him....but mayhew has this team so fucked up he cant take advantage of those advantages and has calvin running 7 yard posts all year. what a fucking clown....

You're still blaming Millen? Tony you probably still wear your orange out shirt to the games. Oh I forgot it's Schwartz's fault. Maybe Obama's, Steven Harper?

Millen?? Wtf are you talking about? I'm just getting over the Millen years, bro. Well, not really. That clown was here what, 8-9 years? The second he walked in the building he set this franchise back. Add 8 or so years and he put this franchise in the depths of hell. How Mayhew even did a seviceable job on this franchise is a fn mitacle. He's still digging his way out of it...

The talent is there. We just need to piece it together..

How fn stupid are you, really?

They had no choice with Stafford. Who was the better option?

The Suh deal will get done. If not, you unload him...they have to.

And how does Mayhew have CJ running 7 yard routes now? Is he the OC? CJ was hurt last year and this isn't Madden, you assclown. You don't put CJ on a fly route and just chuck it up everytime. You get your best playmaker in space and let him do what he does.

Try watching football for once in your fn pathetic life, PLEASE.

I actually do still blame Bush for the mess America is in. Difference with being president and Lions GM is good GMs utilize good draft position and FA to quickly make over their teams on a regular basis. We sit here and suck for decades. Obama cant ever change the fact Bush lied about WoMD and spent trillions on starting a fake war you cant win just so he can make daddy happy that Hussein is dead. That was the nail in the coffin for the dollar. Obama or "i put americans out of work so hire me for presient" Romney weren't ever going to be able to do shit to recover from it.

they had no choice....so lets overpay. Sounds like a great gm!

whatever....

I do watch football....i watched him run 7 yard posts all year. Pettigrew run 6 yard curls all year. Bush in the flat all year. Durham blanketed all year with one hand up and the ball bouncing off his 1 hand. It was awesome to watch!

He's not digging his way out of anything but his own doing, like I said 5 years is a lifetime in the NFL. We've had his first free agent class signed and play out their career here, remember KVB, remember Nate? This team is all Mayhew and it is mediocre at best. And going from crap to mediocre in the NFL is a given, it's set up that way, you could have put the franchise on auto pilot and it would have improved over Millen. This is supposed to be his crowning achievement, he's improved from zero?

My only sliver of hope comes from having Xanders on board...call it correlation or whatever but when you have the same result over and over again and then it changes I tend to point to the one thing that changed with it.

they missed the memo on that one too i guess. that, or they are dumb....

And it was still a top ten offense though, right? Holy shit..

Yeah, buddy!! He improved from zero. Sorry he didn't follow Bill Polian or Ted Thompson..lol. This team had NO talent when Millen left. 0 AND SIXTEEN, GOOD BUDDY!! Breathe it allllllll in because it fn stinks lije horseshit. Millen set this team back over 10+ years wether you believe it or not..

Ten plus years? The average player only last less than five, a great career is ten plus. A whole generation of players would have to be drafted and retire by the time we can put any of our losses on Mayhew. Just for fun the Seattle Seahawks were 4-12 in 2008 the fourth worst team in football.

Stafford is on a cheap deal. The new deal money is much cheaper than EVERY qb who got a franchise deal. Restructures were made for other reasons having nothing to do with staffords actual value.

Same with suh. 22 million. 9 million of that is from two restructures. 13 million is the last year of an old cba deal. Lions are making the best out of the situation. Restructures and now the cap goes up. Lewand and mayhew look like geniuses because of the cap increase. Quin bush levy tulloch are on this team because of those four restructures and they are all good players.

Lions front office has handled a tough cap situation is beautifully. Out with the old (burleson and Delmas) and in with the new golden tate and a new safety.

Who the hell restructures one of their best players to get to a poistion where you either overpay him or he leaves for nothing. That the bane of players existence, the franchise tag is no longer an option. Suh must be laughing his ass off at these 'geniuses'.

You out with the old bolsters my point that we are now throwing out Mayhew trash and not Millen trash...I get a kick that one of the so called "new" is 'insert name here'. Geniuses, right.

Over pay hasn't happened yet. Top dt money is not an overpay for suh. Suh had to be restructured for those 4 players I mentioned. It is all how they structure suhs contract and the cap is supposed to keep rising. Those restructures look incredibly smart now.

And burleson is more age and Delmas is knee injuries that occurred in his third and fourth year. They served their talent purpose in past seasons now we move on with younger players. It happens with every team. All teams replace past good performers.

Lions just had a free agency with suh at 22 million and no restructures yet. A suh deal gets done and now they can structure it with 2015 as the lowest cap number. Great move by mayhew and Lewand. Suh makes the commitment and he is a lion for life easily at top dt money.

That's a new one - served their talent purpose. Is that how you say so long trash in your language? I'm going to use that from now on. They should cut Leshoure, he's served his talent purpose. Man I missed you LKP. Lol

Hate to break it to you but Suh is going to hit free agency. Any agent who doesn't want to be immediately fired would never recommend otherwise.

That's right bro. 10+ years he set us back. How can you argue? Look at his draft picks!! lol

Couldn't even get a former teammate to come coach here bwahahahagahaha.....even his former teamates dont want anything to do with him. Lolololol.
