PFF Review Week 2

What is his overall QB ranking according to PFF for 2013? Not just passing ranking?

Passer ranking is the one that matters.
Rushing and penalty do not.

So i take it it helps your rating when you get a PI in the endzone instead of giving up the TD

It helps your rating looking at every one of his plays not just remembering the bad ones.

Does their passer rating take out junk time stats. Stafford had what 6 completions and 50 yards by dumping off to Bell on the final drive? Take those away and his stats start to look worse again.

Dont you know you can only take away bad plays to get a "true" stat for Stafford.

Plenty of drops on those drives too. Obivious passing downs with tons of pressure down 17 in those drives. Each grade is based on him doing what he is supposed to do against the coverages he faces.

Stafford did really well in the first half except for Last drive first half was bad. Great start to third quarter. Pick was bad. 4th Quarter a ton of pressure on him (4 sacks) in obvious pass.

What does the -4 rating mean? Is 0 average?

It means he missed on 10 throws and was put in a bad situation (down 17 in the 4th in obvious passing downs). Tate had a bad grade. Calvin/Ebron average. Plenty of drops, hit as thrown, throw aways and tips.

I found the answer myself.

0.0 is the average grade.
If a player does something you would normall expect then it scores a 0.

-4.6 means well below average.

10 bad throws like I said. 11 throws where you can't give him too good of grade despite him doing everything right (drops, tips, etc). Plus of those 21, some under pressure.

I didn't say he played good, just that it was good enough to win with the proper weapon and defense support. No way I put this loss on him. Never

I would like to see the grade by play. The 10 could just have a very high negative grade.

The missed field goal drives and the Bell fumble drives he played great. As well as the TD drive. That's enough at a tough Carolina defense.

I don't put it on him solely either, just part. PFF agrees with me.
If everything goes completely right we still only have a 75% chance of success with him at the helm. That means one out of every 4 plays Stafford screws the Lions.

Bottom line, 4th quarter down by 6 CJ was behind the defense for a TD and was severely under thrown. Staff shares some of the blame for the loss.

I wouldn't say screws the Lions. Incompletes are allowed.

When Stafford was playing great, the team didn't help him. That's a fact for Week 2.

4th Quarter it was over the last 2 drives.

3rd Quarter great start. The 3 and out drive he missed some. The next drive it was more the sack to finish it off after 2 first downs.

Pick was his fault but right read.

So lkp says he was getting us "through" the off-season..lol. The new but very short new LKP was actually the fake lkp.

Now we get the real stuff.

Incompletions are fine, as you put it they were bad throws. 25% were him not executing. That's essentially a drop every 4th reception...same result.

Tate was excellent 1st quarter, he gets a lot of credit. Took short passes for longer gains. Made Staff and the offense look better.

Stafford looked great the first quarter and early 3rd. Great throws and great YAC too. it can be both. It's not always just the QB or WR/TE. It can be both doing well.

Good to have the old LKP back. I wasn't really sure how the new one would be.
