Pistons Trade ideas

How does everyone feel about the moves they have made so far? I think if healthy we are a few wins better then last season. Say around 45 wins. Hopefully one of the younger players hit!

Considering we had no cap space at all , we did pretty damn good . I think Rose and Morris are gonna be very integral parts and give great depth . The other Morris just got 2 years /20 million and we did 2 years / 7.4 million and we got the better player i think .

I agree. My sleeper is the kid we got in the Lakers deal for Bullock. I hope we keep svi
Mykhailiuk. I think he has a decent shot at being a Capable backup. Have know idea what we have in the first round pick yet. Moving up in the second to take Deividas Sirvydis appears early to be a mistake. He is a least a few years in Europe away from the nba in my opinion. Iggy would have been the pick here.

interesting.

This is the only way the Pistons will ever get a "superstar"

Probably but sadly we would have to give up Jackson, Maker, Mykhailiuk, Snell, and a bunch of picks. Okc will be asking for 1st rounders. Man it would help us win now. But that contract is what we are trying to stay away from right ? Man it would put fans in the seats though.

Three way deal.

Pistons get Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook. 65.5 million.

Okc gets Andre Drummond and Luke Kennard, and 2 number two picks in 2023, 24.
30.9 million.

Washington gets Reggie Jackson, and Tony Snell, k. Thomas, and a number 1 pick in 2022, and 3 number 2 picks in 2021,2022,2025.
30.9 million.

Not sure why it works being 7 million dollars off. This is why I am a couch GM lol.

OKC would never do that trade. 2 number twos?

I'd keep it simple. OKC should be satisfied just finding a team to take on his salary that is somewhat close to making a run in the playoffs. He won't go to a Sacramento and none super star packed teams can afford him. Throwing in a couple of 2nd round picks is a bonus from a rebuild. Taking Reggie for 1 year doesn't slow down their plans and makes it a little more palatable for the Pistons in the short-term. Griffen, Drummond, Russ, and a bunch of developing SGs and SFs sounds exciting and might just turn heads in the East.

We have to keep the younger guys. How is this deal? I?m keeping our younger players for now. Maybe throw one only in.. like only Kennard, or only the draft pick we just took.
I have zero interest in keeping Thon Maker right now. Snell I have zero clue about.

Piston get.
Westbrook pg.
Ferguson sg.
Bazley F.
Nader Sf.
44 miiion.

Okc gets, and a protected 1st or just a 2nd.
Jackson?s pg.
Snell sg.
Galloway sg.
Maker Pf.
40 million

Like me some Donta Hall. He plays freaking hard. Matt Costello has is having a great summer. Brown, Thomas, Svi are playing great. I am so rooting for Matt to make the team or any team or the G league.

Either you?re over valuing some of your players or extremely under valuing Westbrook. Supermax deal or not, someone will pony up for Westbrook.

Looks like Houston. Can't imagine Chris Paul plays in OKC.

So I know Harden and Westbrook use a ton of possessions and it's a big meme, but I don't see why everyone is just forgetting that they already played together. They literally went to the NBA finals. And that was with Kevin Durant leading the league in the scoring on the same team. They are going to have their minutes staggered heavily and they are going to take turns being unguardable with the ball. The same thing happened with Paul and Harden, but Westbrook is younger and better at this point. Did everybody suddenly forget Houston was likely one Paul knee injury away from winning the championship?

They may not be quite that good anymore, but anyone saying the team just won't work is fooling themselves.

This kind of leads to the same "opportunity" as Westbrook. OKC wants to move Paul. They don't want him dragging the team to 30 wins anymore than he wants to play for a 30 win team.

The issue (just like Westbrook) is his gigantic contract and age. There's no denying that he's on the decline. He's missed 21, 24, and 24 games in the last 3 years. He's not going to play the full season. He can't just get wherever he wants on the court anymore, his former agility becoming more of a shifty prodding with infinite counters. BUT, he's still the point-god. He sees the floor as well as anyone from any era, he's a pinpoint passer, and he can create openings for his teammates. At 34, he's still miles better than Reggie.

3 years, 124 million (38, 41, 44). Should the Pistons be willing to take that on? Would an old-man's Lob City be entertaining enough (and good enough) to bring back fans?

Personally, I'd say yes. CP3's contract is the same length as Blake's. It's one year longer than Drummond's. For the next two years, this team is capped out and barely a playoff team in the Leastern Conference. I'd rather just ride out the end of CP3s career with Blake and Andre than keep watching the current product. The money sucks for the Pistons, but that's for Gores to worry about. Give us entertainment, and maybe the fans will actually start coming to the games again.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y5sbycwx Throw in an unprotected pick for next year.

If you are doing that trade, I think OKC would have to send the Pistons one of those first round picks.

From what I hear on sports talk today is OKC is going to trade him but will likely have to use one of those many 1st rounders that they acquired recently.
