Pistons Trade ideas

If you are doing that trade, I think OKC would have to send the Pistons one of those first round picks.

From what I hear on sports talk today is OKC is going to trade him but will likely have to use one of those many 1st rounders that they acquired recently.

If they are getting someone to eat his contract, then yeah, they need to send out picks. But with a Piston deal, we can't really save them much money right away (they still need to duck the tax). Since they have to take back Reggie and other worthless contracts, I think they would expect some minor compensation. A Piston pick next year (with Paul on the team) is likely in the 20s. The Pistons can't draw fans right now, and they need the star infusion/playoff potential more than OKC needs to move Paul (they have other movable contracts if the tax is their only concern).

Also, I'm trying to be realistic in that the Pistons are more likely to be the "dumb" side of any trade.

It won't happen anyway. I heard that OKC is sending him somewhere he wants to go. Detroit won't be that place. I understand that he and Blake didn't get along.

I didn't realize they had beef. But if OKC is sending him somewhere he WANTS to go, that's actually weirder. The teams he'd want to play for probably can't make the salaries work (current contenders). OKC is literally blowing up their team. The only thing they should care about is who gives the best assets in return (including payroll relief).

I think there was a handshake deal that they would send him somewhere else when the Westbrook trade was made. I am hearing that it's Miami.

CP3 would be a very solid pick up for Detroit and one that I would think would cost a 1st rounder or young talent, and expiring contract. He’d be an All Star PG in the East.

The 3yrs is looked at the wrong way. Whoever gets CP3 is getting a top 10 PG the next 2 seasons and a 40+mil expiring contract in year 3. If I’m a team like Det, SA, LAL, Phi, I’d welcome him with a smile.

CP3 is a scrub nowadays . I hate him as much as ive ever hated anyone in the league , dude is such a hothead/punk . Watch his games , he can never just take a normal shot , he has to try and clown the guy guarding him or try to get on espn on every move he makes . Terrible option IMO

I was a Paul fan a few years ago. Now he is just to old, and would cost to much. Stay younger. Last Four years he has only played 74, 61, 58,58. He averages 67 games a season over his 14 year career, and only close 63 games a season his last four. I guess it no worse then Rose who can?t stay healthy either. I just would hate to give up picks for him.

Go after Beal !
Trade
Jackson and Snell 29.4 million, and 2 first round picks, and 2 seconds.
Beal and Wagner 29.1 million.

Is that to much or not enough ? Now way am I giving as much as the Clippers did for George.

If the Pistons offered that for Beal the Wizzards would laugh and just hang up.

No they would counter with what they want. Which is a bunch of first Round picks. How many? Because is Beal worth 5 like Goerge ? I am not so sure they get that many and the Pistons would be stupid to give up more the 2 or 3. But then Beal, Griffin, and AD could probably mean a top 4 seed. I hate losing Kennard but oh well

How about Jackson, Snell, Kennard , and 3 first spread out 2021, 2023, 2025, and a second round pick in 2022, and 2024. Don?t we have some extra seconds ?

For Beal and Wagner.

CP3 is a scrub? What world are you living in? He's lost a step, sure, but a step down from MVP level Superstar isn't scrub. He'd easily still be a top 3 pg in the east.

He is just to old in my opinion, and misses games the last 4 years. His body is breaking down with age. If we could get him on the cheap it is a no brainer but I would not mortgage the future for Paul. Now Beal is a different story as he is so much younger.

Easily a top 3 PG in the east? Absolutely not.

Kyrie, Kemba and CP3 would be right after. Either way you look at it, he?d be a huge upgrade over anyone not named Blake for the Pistons.

If Paul goes out East, he?d be an All Star Pg the next two seasons and offer a very intriguing 40+mil expiring contract in his final year. 1-2yr contracts along w young talent and or draft picks is what it will take to land the HOF and still All Star talented PG.

Let?s not pretend he didn?t just get traded w 2 1st round picks for an MVP caliber player. CP3 has value.

Paul Just to big of a health risk. Great player. He would coast to much in my opinion.

Beal signs a new deal with Washington, and we trade

Jackson, Snell, and Kennard plus 3 first round picks 2021, 2023, 2026, and 2 seconds.
For
Bradley Beal , moe Wagner, Bertans.

Instant top 4 team in the East.

I'm interested in CP3 because of the trade value. OKC would have to give us some of their first round picks if the Pistons were to trade expiring deals (Snell, Galloway, Jackson). Him and Blake haven't gotten along, CP3 is a total hard ass to play with (not well-liked at all in the league), and he probably has a year or two left of quality basketball.

Whiteside/Bazemore/Nurk/Collins/ two 1st rounders for Blake/Drummond.

You get a jump start on the rebuild w Collins and the picks and clear over $45mil off the books w the expiring Whiteside/Bazemore contracts.

I keep forgetting we could ask for some of okc draft picks because they want to dump Paul. Now I’m interested. I totally forgot about those picks.

Um. Yes. OKC has a gazillion picks, and now they are saddled with a massive contract. They would absolutely take on expiring deals to get rid of CP3.
