Player Signings - 2014 Offseason

Special teams, mininum pay and did well as backup safety in 2012 (unliked Wendling and Coleman and even Spievey starting). He blows chunks at nickel though (other than the Chicago game).

495 K each for the 11 futures contracts most likely. 5,445,000 less in cap room. But it gets us closer to top 51. Once we sign other vets, only the difference between their cap number and 495 K will count.

With Ross, Miller unnecessary. Corey Fuller keep developing him. Edwards I'd rather they dump but he'll get one more long shot chance. Need WR bodies that know the system for OTAs before the draft.

I don't understand the Edwards signing with Ross on the roster. Edwards provides NOTHING. I realize it's just a futures contract....but still.

Would be really nice if Fuller developed into something. I don't want to see Durham ever again. Ever.

Agreed. Fuller is a stretch though. Guy was never called upon last year, even when Burleson and Johnson missed time. That's got me thinking he's just a practice squad guy that will never see the field. Wish the week 17 game would've been about getting these guys we haven't seen anything from some pt. None of the starters looked like they wanted to be there anyway.

Durham is Stafford's buddy, he's not going anywhere.

Somewhere during the off-season, Staff must have lost a bet where he had to target hid buddy 85 freakin' times

To sgg: I accidentally edit your post rather than quoted which is why my name shows up. Sorry about that.

It'll heat up around the combine. They have other options wiht Burleson/Delmas (11 million or 8.5 million of room depending what they do) and some restructures for Houston, Tulloch and Calvin (7.6 million). Maybe a Rob Sims extension (1 million in room). They should get Suh done by draft pick signing time though (5-8 million). It would be nice to get him done late Feb or early March before free agency to avoid all the restructures.

If they get Suh and Sims done now, figure out safety (Delmas or someone else Behthea/Chris Clemons) and give Fairley the 2015 team option. They'll be in great shape in 2015.

Basically just Joique Bell to sign long term and that won't be a back breaker.

back up RBs are worth about $.50 in this league. Bell has provided a nice punch at times...but there really is no reason now why leshoure cant do the same thing if Bell wants a big raise.

That's not how it works with the Lions have a good year get paid 10 times your worth.
