are you suggesting we don't overpay?....cause I can give you like 30 examples....

Scott Mitchell, Ernie sims, titus young....which era do you want to start with???

I'm sure LKP will just point to the positive stats a particular player put up tho, so why bother going into that much detail. With the lions you could actually name several hundred they overpaid through the years.

Titus Young??? He was a second rd pick and didnt make that much i believe

Interesting Mayhew quote about Fairley

"Mayhew said DT Nick Fairley has to "mature as a professional" and become more consistent. Could also "re-position" some of his weight."

https://twitter.com/jkatzenstein/statuses/425446524751855616

Usually everything that comes out of Allen Park is vague bullshit

I definitely agree with him. Fairley looked extremely fat the majority of the season and he still had some very good games. If he got in better shape, maybe changed some of that fat to muscle like Suh, he could be amazing.

Fairley gets a encroachment penalty and then beasts through the line, followed up by nothing for a few series, rinse and repeat..

Where did I say that. I didn't. He should get a 2nd round tender this year and we'll see next year.

2nd round tender would pay him what? I think that's high...especially with leshoure and Riddick on the roster.

cya joique....was nice rooting for ya.

Id be fine getting a 3rd for him....maybe a 4th depending on how leshoure is coming along.

I'm sure Leshoure is glad Shorts is gone and the big dog house he was in..

They will tender 2nd round value to Joique. Not even a question.

Worth every penny. That's peanuts, especially with his value to the team. Reggie is a walking caution sign. Bell is too valuable to let go.

Then all of a sudden you're back on the Leshoure train? I thought you casted him into the dumpster? Leshoure, Reddick and probably a rookie or vet FA as our backup = disastrous.

I agree. I really like Bell. I would like to see both of them in the backfield at times.

They'll tender him 2nd round. Not a big deal. No way they let him go.

If they let Shaun Hill go, that'll free up about $3.25 million. If he wants to re-sign for the vet minimum, that will free up about $2.25 million. More than enough to keep Joique around when you consider the freed up money. If they decide to re-sign Hill at the same price as last year, well then this organization is fucked up.

It won't free up anything for 2014 since he's a free agent. Whole new set of cap committments. That being said the Lions should be fine with a Burleson cut (5.5 million) or pay cut(4.5 million), Delmas cut(sign another safety long term) 4 million in room created or Delmas extension 4 million in room created, Suh extension (6-8 million in room created) or some restructures (7.6 million Calvin, Tulloch, Houston).

They can easily give Bell a 2nd round tender.

I worded it poorly. My point was that instead of bringing Hill back at a similar price tag, that money could go to Joique instead. They shouldn't need to spend 2.5mil+ on a backup QB.
