Potential Cap Casualties

That number does not make a lot of sense to me, I always though teams allocated 6-8 million for their draft picks. Considering Ansah had a cap hit of 4.2, Slay 1.2, and Warford 720K that is more in the ball park of 6-8 million.

Top 51 rule. Rounds 3-7 don't really count extra. Really just Round 1 and 2 contracts count in addition to what the numbers say right now.

I am aware of the top 51 rule, but like I said if the Lions are only expected to pay 2.6 for their rookie contracts that is crazy. They have 2 picks in the top 45, that will pay out at least 5 million alone.

The Rookie Cap is not a separate, distinct pool, but rather, a separate calculation and there is not a dollar-for-dollar correlation between the Rookie Cap and the overall Cap.

That's the part that I get from the following link, Grandy posted it earlier:

They'll pay 8 million in cash but only will have to account for 2.6 extra on their cap. Cap is all that matters to the personnel dept and fans. Bill Ford Jr and Sr probably care about the cash though.
