One mans opinion. The 2011 was lucky as hell. If you insist 2012 was unlucky then 2011 was awfully lucky.

Get Started2011 was what they are when their talent plays their their potential and they stay relatively healthy for 10 games.
2012 the turnover differential and injury problems should be fixed. And EVERYONE knows they were much much much better than their record in 2012. 2011 they earned their 10 win record. 2012 they truly earned more than 4 wins.
They had some games that were either lucky or simply handed to them in 2011.
MN OT game could have gone either way.
Dallas gave them that game....should have been a loss
One point win in Oakland.
Cam Newton served up 4 INTs to the Lions in the Carolina Game.
They earned every single victory. Lions earned those picks on Cam plus Stafford torched the Panther D to 5 TDs with a broken finger, they torched the Raiders secondary, Calvin had a big day and great reads and returns by Houston/Carpenter, and Best had a big play and Calvin had a big play to come back against the Vikings. The Lions talent shined through.
NONE OF THAT WAS LUCK.
well the opposite of all that could be said for the 2012 season. Those other teams EARNED all of those wins vs. the Lions. They were careful to NOT turn the ball over and EARNED every turnover they created. See how it works?
It doesn't work that way with LKP. All of our wins were earned, all loses were unlucky..
When we win, other teams have injuries but they're earned. If we lose, and other teams had injuries we were still unlucky because we had more..
Personally I'd rather have a team that wins by being more talented, better coached, more disciplined and better able to execute than the opposing team, and good or bad luck doesn't enter into the equation. A team like the 49ers, Pats, Broncos, Ravens. But that's just me I guess.
Lions are more talented and well coached. They outplay most of their opponents but got shit on with unlucky turnovers. The -16 turnover differential and 10 TDs allowed to none forced from D/ST and too many short fields given up by turnovers will be reduced back to the Lions norm (low 20s). The Lions long drives offense and long drive defense can beat anyone in this league.
In the real world JS is in severe trouble of losing his job because he has an underperforming team that is one of the more undisciplined teams in the league. Issues on and off the field, penalties.....coach bares the burden.

I won't even go to the 20 point down second half victories, this one was won by luck and not earned in 2011. I was there, Webb shredded us and the final TO was a clear foul. The penalty would have given the Vikes a first and goal. Just like many of the calls/TOs went agains us last year, in 2011 many went for us. Like I said I'd rather not rely on luck at all.
This was the most earned out of all. The Lions were destroying Ponder (31-14) while missing most of their defense, Fairley, Suh, CW, Durant, Houston, Berry, Delams. Then they put in Webb and he had a couple lucky runs against a backup Dline and secondary. Earned victory and unneeded victory to make the playoffs actually.
In the real world, he will have coached the Lions to the playoffs in 2 of 3 years when they make the playoffs this season. He's a very good coach and we should be lucky to have him.
This team outplayed opponents but the unlucky turnovers and injuries screwed them. It has been addressed and if you played 2012 over again, it wouldn't have happened 9 times out of 10.
Your misinformed opinions and pessism drive me crazy too. People cant' even remember trades from 2010.
Let's just leave it at this, we'll see in 2013. Big year to prove that this is a very talented team that can win.
