Preseason Game 2: Lions @ Browns Thread

You dont even know who's on the fn roster!!! lmfao

he said greenwood got cut....I thought he meant the belly button ring faggot from albion who hasn't touched the field in 2 years....I was mistaken....its all good tony, relax.

the only facts are that they lost those games. The stats are facts but saying they should have won is purely hypothetical.

As far as his numbers this year....he will probably throw for a shit ton of yards again.

My guess for this year

4800 yards, 30 TDs, 17 INTs

The team won't be a success if he has those numbers but with over 700 attempts. He needs to be more efficient.

That article is not saying the Lions should have won. It is saying Stafford played well enough to earn those records. Big difference. 1-22 makes it sound like he sucks against over .500 teams. Every "excuse" is a legit reason we lost that had nothing to do with Stafford. That couldn't be further from the case.

Agree with those 2013 numbers except a few less ints. The team can be very successful with those numbers. Stafford leads a good long drive offense. He needs more short fields like other teams and they need to limit it to around 23 turnovers not 33. Plus the D needs to force about 10 more turnovers compared to last year.

Watch your words buddy. Your true hater colors are shining through. Belly button ring. Yeah you are real informed on the injury.

from the article

"Summary

Based on Stafford?s play, the Lions should be 15-4 against winning teams. Combine that with the 5-1 against .500 teams, Stafford is a 20-5 true record based on how well he played. The Lions earned those 18 losses but Stafford only earned 4 of the 18."

Stafford is. Not Lions are. Note your quote, the Lions earned those 18 lossses but Stafford only earned 4 of the 18.

However you want to look at it, football is a team sport. Individual players don't earn wins and losses. The Lions have an awful record with Stafford at QB against teams finishing above .500 for the season.

I am hoping Stafford plays great this year, can consistently hit his receivers in the hands, and not have happy feet in the pocket. Unfortunately based on most of last season and the little playing time so far this preseason, it's not looking good. But hopefully he'll play better Thursday night against the Patriots.

Stafford did just fine last season. Same long drive offense as 2011 actually. 22 PPG. 4 additional PPG came from 10 additional short fields in 2011 and 3 PPG came from defensive TDs. to get to the 2011 29 PPG. The Lions had the best long drive offense in the division. Stafford does more than enough for the Lions to be consistent 10 game winners. There is room for improvement for him but Stafford should be a winner. Only 4 short fields for Stafford and no defenisve TDs to help, won't happen again, plus 2 games of special teams causes losses.

It's up to the weapon, defense and special teams which the Lions have plenty of talent to support Stafford this season.

Ya stafford is the shit, he can do everything but win. Can't wait for these games to matter so the slappys and haters will have new material

Great qbs don't have all these excuses.

Stafford is a young good QB. Stafford even with the excuses won 10 in 2011. 2012 it was a calymity of errors. There won't need to be excuses in 2013. Too much talent on this team.

I don't see "too much talent" on this team.

The Lions problems over the recent years have been some very good talent, with big holes in key area's and no depth. 2013, the secondary has big holes, we still have no depth. The OL is suspect. And by that I mean they upgraded, IMO, yet because they changed a lot they could struggle in year 1.

Mosely, Bannan, Idonije, Young is a good Dline depth. Plus Taylor and Jones/Idonije can slide inside.

Harris/Scott at guard/center and loser of Fox/Hilliard is good depth at tackle.

Hill is good depth.

LeShoure/Bell is good depth.

Lions have 3 WRs so number 2 WR is covered. Possibly slot with Edwards. However number1 WR can't be lost.

LB unproven but McIntosh looks like good depth being a former starter and all.

Mathis,Bentley,Bartell is fine depth for Houston/Slay

Safety, Carey played well last year but must get it together after this preseason.

If Stafford doesn't get the blame for all the close loses last year....then he doesn't get the praise for romo and a bunch of other teams completely falling apart in the 4th quarter in 2011. You claim we were just unlucky last year. Welp....we were the luckiest team in the world in 2011. We weren't a playoff caliber team....hence getting stomped in the playoffs. We probably weren't a 4 win team last year....but we weren't a +.500 team either. 6 or 7 wins if everything goes better isn't something to look forward to. Nothing via draft or FA has killed this team prior to this offseason. This offseason was a step in the right direction but they are still 2 or 3 more of those offseason/drafts away from being a QUALITY playoff contender.

Stafford torched the Raiders and Carolina and the Vikings in the second half for those comeback. Houston and Carpenter aided Stafford and Stafford put up points as well in the second half of that Cowboy game. Stafford and Houston/Carpenter get the praise for that win. Stafford/Lions offense get the praise for Carolina/Raiders/Vikings game

Yeah, I will be. They don't have 10 win talent..

They most certainly do. They have more talent than the 2011 team by far. It's the 2011 team without the CB2/safety opposite Delmas hole sand a more talented yet inexpereinced Oline. Bush may be better in between the tackles than Best too.
