Preseason Game 2: Lions @ Browns Thread

Because trying to get better isn't getting better. Aren't you tired of our secondary play year after year? Aren't you tired of this team not competing more often than not? Aren't you tired of not drafting better after the 1st round?

I might be Mr. Negative right now but I don't understand why others don't want to face reality, that this team at this time is not good. And it's not based on 2 exhibition games.

But this team does have talent. Injuries murdered this team last year. Our backups to our backups were starting games for us...lol. Cmon, thats a recipe for disaster.....for ANY team.

I like to look at the situation as 'the glass half full' ....lol. Im sick of being negative, man. They have the talent..i fully believe that.

You're kidding, right? Bentley, Bartell, Carey, and Greenwood? That's your definition of trying to get better? They might as well have signed me. I could have done as good as Greenwood, who btw hasn't done a thing. I could have gotten beat time after time like Carey and Bartell.

Just throwing some names at you. Sorry, not every FA or draft pick is fn Deion Sanders. Step into reality for aminute, buddy. Besudes, its too early to dump on Bentley and Greenwood if you ask me. The other guys like Bartell and Carey are depth. They have been in the NFL for a few years.

Yes Tony they tried bringing guys in and its not that we don't like them. It's that they are terrible NFL football players. That being said I like the Quinn signing, and Delmas was my favorite player that one game he played in 2010. IF Slay can become a legitimate #2 and Mathis still has some juice I have hope for the secondary. The linebackers on the other hand.

Not all of them are terrible....you're exaggerating. I agree with you on the Slay and Quin remarks. I honestly never wanted Delmas back...only because i dont think he can stay healthy...cue up Mathis to make my point.

Im hoping McIntosh can step in and the younger guys at LB can develop.

If I never see either of them on the field again it will be too soon. I spent all offseason listening to how great they were from LKP.

I feel ya but you really cant sit there with a straight face and say injuries did not factor into last years debacle. Our backups to our backups were going down. That spells disaster....

This was a 5 minute search:

Bartell shut down Brandon Marshall. Raiders are idiots. Bartell was decent as a Ram until injury.
And Carey played well this year. He had a high grade and didn't get beat deep. And Don Cary had only a 41% catch rate against him, 31.9 QB rating on him giving up only 1 TD with 2 int. Solid in run defense. Carey played well in 336 snaps for Detroit.

Where did I say they were great. What I said in that post was true. Carey played well in last 5 and bartell played in one game well. Lions have been burned before like this. Remember kalimba edwards in 2004 2005. Carey and bartell can recovery and play well. Pff blamed quin and tulloch for both tds not carey

Preseason not over. I want slay to start and delmas to play as the best options. Carey mathis or bartell as backup plans you could do a lot worse.

And thw greenwood hate is as much jumping the gun as greenwood measurable love

LMFAO. Yeah one presesaon whiff makes you right. Just root for the Packers already and get it over with dude. You care about being right over rooting for this team. Mayhew knows more than you will ever know about assessing talent. Same with Shack Harris.

Palmer and Levy had decent days otherwise. +.7 run D for Palmer and .1 for Levy. Levy and Palmer each had a tackle for loss you must have missed. Since we can judge by one preseason play, Levy and Palmer are all pro with their one tackle for loss each.

It was a bad game. It was a preseaon game. That game does not dictate how the season goes or how well Palmer/Levy will play all year. We'll see if the make the corrections and take some better angles this week.
