Babs is high on this kid, sees him as 3rd or 4th line center that might be able to get around 40points, but his strength is defense. He can be a dependable lock down center. His numbers in GR 36-10-17-27. Has anyone seen the line combos yet?

Interesting article. Shanny was a hockey player, pure and simple. He could skate, score and fight all at 6'3". That's a tough customer. I always liked the Whalers jerseys, I guess Mr Coffey did not.

where I worked there were a few hardcore boston bruins hockey fans. They 'all' said that getting Shanhan would get the Redwings a Stanley Cup. prophetic.

I could not get behind firing Babs. I love how he tells it like it is, the man doesn't bs. Everyone knew this year would be tough before the injuries started piling up and were still in fine position to get in the playoffs. Once Helm gets back in the lineup, things will fall into place.

How could things have gone worse last night?

Sammy gets hurt before they take the ice and is out another two weeks.

Kindl starts the game with back to back minors because his positional play is so atrocious. He moves the puck alright, just has no clue when and where to do so. This kid needs big time help.

Howard left after giving up two goals on seven shots with blurred vision, exactly what you never want to hear about your starting goalie, especially considering the Monster has yet to start a game.

Emmerton takes a puck to the chin, Kronwall gets hurt after being boarded.

The hockey gods hate us so much right now that Ian Whites stick breaks on a slapper, so that Kindl can take another two minute break.

We lead the league so rediculously in man games lost to injury. As of last night the numbers for the top 5 unluckiest teams:
Detroit 107 man games lost
Florida 69
Edmonton 68
Philly 67
Ottawa 44

Why are we cursed this year? I know we brought Sammy back, but even he is not this unlucky.
