Rushing and Winnings

2013 we had 6 bad rushing days and 10 good rushing days (4 YPC or higher). All 6 bad rushing days either missing Calvin (2), Bush (3), Waddle(5) or had Oline shuffle (1 cincy)

Lions went 1-5 on the bad days and 6-4 on the good rushing days

Note: Burleson hurt 7 games, Broyles hurt 8 games, Calvin missed 2 games, Pettigrew missed 2 games. Lost Young and never replaced him properly

2012 8 good and 8 bad.
3-5 on good days
1-7 on bad days

Note WRs 2/3 missed last 6 games, WR 2-4 missed last 5 games and WRs 2-4 and TE missed last 4 gaames.

2011 7 good and 10 bad (includes playoffs)

3-4 on good days
7-3 on bad rushing days

Note no downfield weapons got hurt in 2011

so what you are saying is when you have a good running game you have a better chance to win? So what do the Lions do...get a TE that can't block and have Stafford pass the ball over 650 times a year. Great plan!

Good teams have balance and depth. When you look at the top teams, they're strong in all areas with depth and have an elite QB. The Lions are not that, thus the reason Vegas for their odds.

Favored in 10 games

Kept pettigrew. Need both run and pass. We have both

As I've stated over and over again, the teams that have won the last 5 super bowls have TE's that do their job, aren't flashy, and are reliable for the QB. Don't need to burn a top 10 pick on one after you resigned your top TE to a big deal.

That's why the Lions aren't a winning franchise. They try to do things their own way, and it continues to burn them.

We have no depth because we have to fill positions in free agency to make up for Mayhew's blown draft picks (including some 1st, and a bakers dozen 2nd and 3rd) and his early tenure over paid free agents.

Tate - Williams, Toone, Young, Broyles, Fuller, Burleson
Bush - Brown, Best, Leshoure
Quinn/Ihedigbo - Delmas, Spievey,
Mathis - Geenwood, Green, Houston

Usually you use free agency to fill holes not fuck ups. Then that's how you build depth.

Great depth on this team

yet the over under for wins is 8...well a little more than 8 since it's Over (-150) / Under (+130)
Exactly. I keep trying to tell him that so he can clean up in Vegas but deep down he knows they're a bad bet.

Lions are a great bet. How do you know I haven't made bets

Good to know. I guess we won't be able to use injuries as an excuse if things go off the rails again.

Unless ofcourse we get "concentrated injuries." BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWQAQQQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYESIPUTQSINTHEREWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well of course not if we get concentrated injuries. No team can overcome that. Concentrated injuries to Tahir Whitehead, Ronnell Lewis, Greenwood, and Bill Bentley on defense is even worse than the Packers losing Aaron Rodgers.

And the Lions outplayed 12-13 teams. They were the better team just happened to lose due to injuries, bad refs, weather etc

They lost due to poor play, turnovers, bad defense and not being able to overcome injuries.

They lost due to the refs not calling PI against the Steelers and Ravens. Fluke turnovers against the Bucs (last 2 ). A blizzard plus running game injuries. A bad block in the back call late 2nd half against the Giants. And too many injuries against Pack/Vikings. And some flukey blocked kicks/shanked punts against Arizona and Cincy.

Lions overcame everything but the refs snatched it right back.

The refs not calling PI??? That's what it is now? What do the refs have to do with a bad punt???!!

I wish you could see the way we see your posts. The excuse making is just too much. You can't expect to be taken honestly on a message board the way you justify everything.

you are such a loser! There are missed calls in every game and they go both ways. It was snowing for both teams in Philly. Blocked kicks / shanks are the responsibility of the Lion's players...do your job! Injuries vs. the Vikings? You say the Lions had a Super Bowl roster! The Vikings were so bad that any decent team should be able to kick their asses with significant injuries...especially when Peterson is out!
