Russell Wilson....lol

Sorry, not everybody can be elite and do elite things in their first 4 seasons like Rus has...With all do respect, Cam has always been above average and now he's a league MVP and NFC Champ!

Not saying that but 4 average season and a very good season is not HOF. Not even close. Plus, he might be an MVP this season but he wasn't the best QB. I suspect someone else will win offensive player of the year.

LOL I'm talking MVP and you're bring up offensive player of the year?

Tricks are for kids!

Because it means they had a better year. Or did you not know that. There had to be one.

Just in case you needed to know: The AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award is given annually by the Associated Press to the offensive player of the National Football League believed to have had the most outstanding season.

Even if he won both, one year doesn't make a HOF. Maybe Matt's a HOF this year. His year wasn't much worse than Cam's plus he had 2011. Sweet, Matt Stafford HOF.

Do you really want to debate Cam's 2015/16 success to Staffords?

Why not. They have a much better team and no doubt Cam had a better year but it wasn't lights better. Just based on this season and 2011, Matt has had the better career. The previous 4, Cam wouldn't crack the top 15.

No, Cam has the better DEFENSE. Who the hell does he have on offense besides Greg Olsen? Ted Ginn and the corpse of Jerricho Cotchery??

If he wins a SB, it doesn't matter about his prior average years, it trumps anything Stafford has done.

So Cam is a sure HOF? Lets say he doesn't play more than this season? Which is really the argument. Outside this season, he wasn't any better than Matt. Bad receivers or not. Numbers don't lie.

Oh no, not saying that at all. He is statistically similar to Stafford in terms of regular season, but if he takes them and wins a SB, that puts him way ahead of our guy.

He would need to stretch this success out over another 7-10 years before you can call him a HOF QB.

I am just not a believer that a Super Bowl victory makes a QB great. There have been very few, if any, Super Bowl winning QB's that had little support around them. Carolina is a great example. Did Cam Newton get astronomically better in one off season or did the Panther team get really good??? That team is deep.....talented and aggressive. They put their players in position to be successful. Kurt Coleman is an average NFL safety......ask him to cover or be a box safety and he would be terrible. But they don't ask him to do that much. He's a terrific ball hawk that is really good at reading a QB......so what does Carolina ask him to do????? Exactly that.

I absolutely love the way the Panthers use Newton. Yep, he's gonna get hit. Yep, it may lead to an injury one day. Most teams would have asked him not to run nearly as much and not to take hits at all if possible.......but that takes away a big part of what makes him so good! It's the main reason RGIII seems to have busted. In the NFL...he's way too small to run like he should be running.....which leaves him as being a pocket passer......and he's not a good one.

I wouldn't say Cam got astronomically better, but I think he's finally fully in the Carolina system. They are one of the few teams that runs that read option play almost every snap, and that's a really tough thing to master. He doesn't have anyone around him on offense besides Olsen. That dude does the majority of the work to make that team go.

The difference between him and RG3 is that Cam is built like a brick shithouse. He's a linebacker playing QB. And I don't think he has any real injury history.

I agree that a SB victory doesn't make a QB great but it is a good tiebreaker. I also consider how a QB plays in big games, specifically the SB.

Oh, I agree. But Carolina has a top notch running game (partly because of their QB) and Olsen is really good. That system doesn't need great WR's because of the way it's run. They do need guys that understand zone concepts and how to exploit them....but.... they don't need guys like CJ or Julio Jones who are man to man nightmares because Carolina create so much space in the passing game with their running game. Cotchery is a perfect fit because he's really good at reading zones and sitting where the openingis, Ginn stretches the field, Brown is probably their best man to man weapon and burned a S for a long TD yesterday. Shit, their best WR (Benjamin) hasn't even played this year!!!!

It's just a really effective, well run system that uses its personnel perfectly.....offensively and defensively.

Put Cam Newton in NE's offense and he's average......but in that offense.......he's AWESOME!!!

I think that running game has a lot to do with Cam. Jonathan Stewart has been basically injured/ineffective throughout the majority of his career.

I personally think this offense looks so darn good because of the players knowing their spots, and because the QB demands so much attention. He's definitely not the most accurate dude out there, but he throws a darn good deep ball so he can keep the opposition honest.

You mean Pro Bowl MVP Matthew Stafford?

Stewart hasn't been anything special this year either. 4.1 yards per carry this year and only two 100 yard games.

Lets be real Tony...If Stafford had the same success that Wilson has had you'd call him the "GOAT"?

2 NFC Championships
1 NFL Championship
106 passing TD's 36 ints
12 rushing TD's
Over 2,400 rushing yards
Never Missed an NFL game
65% completion percentage
2nd all time passer rating 101.8

And he's only just finished his 4th NFL Season. To be continued...

GOAT?? Not even close. I dont care if you dont agree with me. Its how i feel. He's overrated

Now the MVP of the NFL is too high when he's in the "2nd tier" and has 6 players in front of him?

Bro, you're smok'n some laced trees!!!

And what has Newton done before this year? He's been average at best. He's actually been a sulking whiny bitch for most of his career. He's having an MVP type season this year. Good for him....its about time. Its all about consistentcy. Lets see him continue this trend and he might even become one of the best. I'm not annointing him shit after ONE year of greatness. You go ahead and do that....not me. Capiche?

I'm not going pick apart this list but do think you forgot Flacco?

IMO Wilson and Newton both deserve to be in the 1st tier. Both will be in the Hall of Fame with the other 4qbs you have in the 1st tier.

HOF?!?!?! Wtf?!? And im the one smoking the good shit?! Lol

And Flacco is a fkn joke btw. Oh, but they did win a Super Bowl lololol

Hey Stafford had an "elite" year too. Cam's MVP isn't a lock yet!

Look at Staffs numbers, dummy. He had an elite year. Doesnt mean he's elite. Ya see, you're so fkn dumb you dont even realize it...lol. As for Newton? MVP ELITE type year. Doesn't mean he's all of a sudden elite after ONE year, you fkn tool. Learn the game
