Ryan Broyles unhappy with role, vents on Twitter

Really, what's the difference? If it's not Calvin or Tate, there is no one else on this team that even looks like a threat to catch passes. Unless Broyles is falling over drunk in practice, what's the harm in giving him a game?

I'm with ya dubbsco. Let Broyles prove he isn't shit. Fuller already has

I hope this all results in Broyles going in an talking to Caldwell, which is what Caldwell is pretty much hinting that he wants Broyles to do. Broyles needs to vent to the coaches in person, not on twitter. Broyles has been a class act up to this point by battling back from injuries and keeping his head up throughout the down time, and he needs to handle this situation in the same way.

Why did Leshoure sit his ass down all season in '13? There's a reason, maybe because in practice they're not getting it done..I always here "you think you know more than the HC" in past seasons when I disagree with something..so maybe Calwell has inside information on where Broyles is a piece of shit.

Kdp What outside of beating up on some scrubs in preseason that are now selling used cars makes you think Broyles is going to be the savior of the offense. Yeah he was great in college...that was 2 knees and and blown achilles ago. The coaches see him every day in practice and dont put him in. Yet some on this board think they know better.

Would it hurt to give him a few more snaps, no. But Im going to have a little more faith in the coaches judging talent over some casual board posters. Not to mention caldwell has already stated its more on Stafford and the o-line not hte other receivers.

Who's saying they know more than the coaches? What I've seen is the coaches' sad inability to get others involved that aren't named Calvin Johnson or Golden Tate. He was a 2nd round pick. Give him a shot. Is Ebron not proving himself in practice either?

But Ebron is out there. Not going to him is on Matt and Lombardi..

If he's a 7th round pick, cut him and be on your way. He's a high draft pick. At least give him a shot to go out there and fall on his face. What's the harm at this point? This offense is really shitty. What's if he goes out there and surprises people?

Throw him out there for a few series.

Shitty offense isn't because of a lack of weapons..it's the guy throwing the ball and the ones protecting the guy throwing the ball. And color me not impressed because he was a second round pick..

Btw, the forum is slow as fk today.

Tate has no problem catching a lot of balls out there and getting open, why is Corey Fuller having problems? Maybe because he can't run routes or get open?

Or Matt's not throwing it to him? It's all speculation at this point..But Tate is the slot, what is Broyles going to do? Like I said, if Ebron is getting open but not getting the ball..why would Broyles get it? 2 years and 6 games and he's done jack shit..

Injuries, okay, but he certainly hasn't done much to deserve time.

Slot, out wide, it doesn't matter. If a guy is a talent, put him out there.

I still don't see the harm in playing him for a few series, or a half, or whatever, to see if he can get involved.

The coaching staff has seen him in training camp, the pre season and at practice since the season started. My guess is they think the other guys are better based on his performance. Just because he is a 2nd round pick does not mean you just give him a shot. If he is a bust just wash your hands of him and move on!

And we all saw him in preseason as well. Playing against 1st, 2nd, 3rd string, whatever, the guy showed some ability to make plays. They must have saw something completely different than we did.

Broyles is a WR on a team that is looking for WRs. He's shown nothing.

Whether or not he will end up being a viable NFL player, this is not the way to try and get more playing time. This kind of stuff gets you cut and stocking shelves at Big Lots.

Ross is better than Broyles. Which is why Ross gets the 12 snaps a game in the slot over Broyles. Broyles is not going to take snaps away from Fuller...who plays on the outside. Broyles is not going to take snaps away from Tate or Ebron. So again, im not sure why we are arguing about whether or not its Broyles or Ross getting the 12 snaps at slot....because its not enough to make a difference. If it was Broyles in there instead of Ross....hed probably do what hes done his entire career....not much of anything.

If that's the case, then cut him and be done with it. I just think he should be given a game to show what he can do. You never know what you have unless you actually try.

If Jones was fullly healthy ....I honestly think Broyles would be a candidate to be cut after pulling what he pulled. Right after a divisional road win is the absolute worst time to start crying and making it all about you. If we had an alternative, it would be a perfect time to make a statement and release him....but we don't have an alternative.

In my honest opinion....if calvin is going to be out any more games and we are forced to play Tate more often on the outside you still line up with Fuller and Tate on the outside and Ebron in the slot before you start giving Broyles more snaps. I kinda get the argument of wanting to try something different but I don't understand the reasoning. People calling for Broyles are saying he was productive in college, can run a route....ok? But hes caught 31 passes in 19 games at the NFL level and youd be playing him out of position.

That is Calvins position....just think a bit about the passes hes caught this year. Do you really want to see Broyles out there on the outside being thrown jump balls and back shoulder fades? to a guy that's 5 foot nothing. What about the diving catch in the back of the end zone? A lot of those routes are feel/comfort level between the WR and QB. Broyles isn't going to make any of those plays. Neither is Fuller. And Stafford shouldn't trust either of them to make those kind of plays.
