Slay

No teams had the Lions bad luck in fumble recoveries for offense and defense. There was a grantland article on that.

No other team were really close to allowing 70 non defensive TDs and getting 0 in return. 4 special team TDs causing 2 losses was obviously a fluke. That has never happened.

And finally the -16 turnover differential was not consistent with the TO differential of the 2010 Lions +4, 2011 Lions +11 and now the 2013 Lions +1.

Some poor play by defense not forcing but alot of bad luck on top of the execution.

Glad the Lions are a winning team again and have a great shot in these last 7 games for another playoff run.

The learning curve a CB goes through is way more complex than what a RB goes through. A RB just has to see the hole and run. A CB goes from playing mediocre college QBs to playing the best QBs in the world.

Slay has the measurables and skills to be good, so most of us are willing to give him a year as he learns right now. Leshoure has no great measurables or skills and had a much smaller learning curve, so that's why some people bash him instead of Slay.

A RB just has to see the hole and run??? wtf. Did you even play football bro? Thats a pretty ignorant statement....wow

Re-watching the Lions/Bears game now. Not too sure that i agree that Cutler blew on Sunday. The dude was throwing darts. Its just that our DLine was hitting him EVERY time he dropped back and it looked like he was wearing down late in the game. Cutler didnt suck at all....give credit where credits due and thats the defense

Agreed on the Bears game. The Lions deserve way more credit The pressure on Cutler deserves more credit and was huge given the poor CB play on top of the great run D and great rush offense too. And 3 TDs by Stafford including one in the clutch. Last year that last TD drive was only a FG and the Lions lose. Bears had 19 turnovers forced coming into that game. Only giving up 1 in the game was huge too.

They played well but he missed several open guys. More than several. I don't agree either on a RB just see's the hole and run but I have seen many RB who did very well their rookie season, more so than say DB's. So take that for what's its worth.

Its supposed to take several years for WRS just like CBS. Yet the Broyles hate.

People hate the Broyles pick because of his injury in college, and because he shouldn't have gone in the 2nd round.

But Tony...Sacks man, pressure and hits don't mean anything!

Some players come in hurt. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. 2nd round and 3rd round is when you usually gamble on those type of players. Broyles was worth the pick at the time.

No he wasn't. Add in the fact he was a slot receiver and he's not a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Especially when at the time we were not in need of a slot receiver. Nate was healthy at the time..

The only way you gamble on a pick like this is when you have a team like the Patriots or Packers, perennial playoff teams. Not Detroit.

Detroit was a playoff team and did still take 3 CBs in that draft. And yes it was the proper gamble given Nates age and Broyles college production. It was a need pick. Worth a later 2nd for sure.

1 playoff season out of 2 decades does not warrant "a gamble". It was not a need pick given that even if he wasn't hurt he's still would be behind Nate. And thus the fact the Lions were the only team who thought he was a 2nd round pick.

Two decades is not on this current organization. Looking good for playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years.

It was a need pick with Burlesons age and contract. They fixed his contract. And Burleson can play the outside if Broyles was healthier earlier this year. Good thing Durham stepped up some.

If it was a need, why go for someone coming off a major injury, it's not like there wasn't anymore receivers on the board. T.Y. Hilton was still on the board....

Maybe if you have really good depth. The Lions don't have that luxury.

Also, slighty off topic at this point, but my friend down in Florida says the fan base is pretty impressed with Johnthan Banks and that he's a solid #2 behind Revis and could be a #1 when Revis is gone. Too early to tell but we might have picked the wrong Miss St CB, as many feared from the very start.

Banks was more nfl ready, Slay has more upside. I'll stick with Slay. He's not getting torched out there, just out of position, which I think will change with experience.
