Slay

If it was a need, why go for someone coming off a major injury, it's not like there wasn't anymore receivers on the board. T.Y. Hilton was still on the board....

Why go for Broyles? Because he was incredibly productive, runs great routes and has good hands. Late 2nd round was the proper grade for him. Bad luck with 2 pro injuries completely separate from his college injury.

Lions doing well without the use of 2nd round picks from 2010-2013. That's great work by Mayhew in free agency, waiver wire scouring, trades, Round 1, Rounds 3-7 some and undrafted free agents.

Banks was more nfl ready, Slay has more upside. I'll stick with Slay. He's not getting torched out there, just out of position, which I think will change with experience.

Agreed, that's why I think it's too early. Fortunately our bench has stepped up (surprisingly) and given him some time to learn/develop.

Agreed. He was right there with the WR on the first TD, but didn't make the play. He needs to looking for the ball more and using his body/hands to try and knock it loose.

Its been several years...still waiting.

Unfortunately not several years of playing time due to unlucky 2 separate non college injury related.

I'm waiting for you to tell me you were wrong how good the Lions are. We don't even need 2nd round picks other than Delmas. Fuck em

He tried to break Marshalls hands apart on the play. Not strong enough.

Slay must have slept with your Mom, LKP. For as much optimism you have, not sure I'd even call it that anymore - everything and everyone is perfect yet in your opinion Slays a POS? You even give Jason Fox a pass..Did he spit in your soup or something?

Show me a post where I said Slay was a POS. I'm just surprised everyone gives him all the time in the world and Broyles didn't get 2 snaps until the hate turned on him last year.

I can give you a bunch of post where it seems you think little of him.

I don't think he's a POS. Nothing I said was not true. Your hits and hurries not meaning anything, is very untrue.

I never said that. I said they don't mean as much as lets say sacks. What I mean by that, sacks mean we stopped them. Hits and hurries mean they still had a chance to complete a pass..I just didn't make that up. I would like us to get more sacks.

Hits and hurries mean we got an int or incompletion far more than completed passes. Lions Dline is producing when you look at the ENTIRE picture. That's what you need to know.

Not to step in on this pissing match but actually it doesn't mean that at all. That's just one big assumption.

Lions 30% on stopping 3rd down. It does mean that. And 11 picks in 9 games from many hurries and hits. Just watch the games and you can see that.

30% on stopping 3rd down. Not 30% on stopping 3rd down when the QB is hurried or hit.

11 picks in 9 games. Not 11 picks in 9 games from hurries and hits.

Do I think our D-Line is doing a good job?? I actually do considering how little help they get from LBs from the blitz because Gunther loves to rush 4. But cherry picking stats like that without real factual statistics ABOUT when the QB is hurried and rushed is just word vomit. Cheapens your argument a lot.

And I can give you a bunch of posts where you belittle hits and hurries.

Cause were now 27th in the league in pass defense? Hits and hurries would be great if other teams weren't throwing the ball all over the place against us.

Big plays happened but the pressure is consistent. Can't get there every play. Still good 3rd down, only 60.1 % completion against and a solid YPA.

More pressure this year and 11 picks in 9 games. It's a fact the picks caused the pressure. Just watch the game tape. 11 picks in 16 games with much less hits and hurries in 2012.

84.2 rating given up

Lions pass rush is doing it's job no matter what big plays the CBs have given up.

Schwartz watched the tape.
