Stafford gone to rams

We can win with Goff with right moves though..base on offense with oline, swift and hock..plus new schemes on both sides improves this team

How to rebuild
Jags 11 draft picks
Rookie qb contract
60 mill in cap space

How not no rebuild
6 draft picks
25 mill re-tread qb
11 mil over cap

No oline. No wrs. No defense. No money or picks to fix anything. Good luck.

I think we can both agree that Quinn didn?t leave this GM much to work w. Let Holmes do his job. He pulled off a blockbuster and got a good rerun w future picks.

Hughes, this has nothing to do with this current regime. This shows how bad Quinn left this organization.

That's false... this deal without goff would be 25 mil more in cap space. This deal with picks this year would go from 5 picks to say 8. How is this not on the current regime?

They chose to not rebuild with a rookie qb contract.

They would not have gotten the two Firsts without taking Goff. You know that. Five number 1 picks the next 3 seasons. We all like that. Hell maybe some qb?s move up the board and we can trade back and get more picks. We need to get as many draft picks as possible. While I wish we were starting a rookie next year at qb let?s just let it play out and see what happens.
Man Quinn sure did screw us totally. While I am skeptical anything the Ford?s try in football will work I guess we just have to hope Holmes and Campbell knows what he is doing.

We might think that but others think he is. I've hears lots of "very good, some great, a couple stars, and generational." I rather of had WFT 15th pick.

Judging by your posting pattern since being here im willing to bet that if they had taken Washingtons deal you'd be screaming "they could've had TWO 1sts from the Rams!! This team is so dumb!!"

the dream scenario for the Lions is that QB #4 is the last one on the board at #7 (Fields or Lance) and some team over pays to trade up.

1st and 3rd this year with a rookie qb contract and 25 more mil in cap space is much better than what we got imo. Holmes fucked us.

I prefer that they're spreading out the picks. More rookie contracts spread out across multiple years will be easier on future caps. Throwing everything into this year's draft will result in a bunch of guys due up for contract in 2025 (maybe 2026 for 1sts), they'll have to pay these guys just after the last Quinn's remaining contracts come off the books. They now have extra years of cap cushion, if they exercise Okudah's fifth year we could see seven 1sts under rookie contracts in 2024 and almost all of Quinn's FA signings gone.

I get wanting a rookie deal ir cheap vet. But ways to create cap space at leastbut adds 6 mil to goff next 3 years

Signing vets isnt way to go in 2021 if long rebuild. Maybe one big name building block

Can still trade back in 2021 for more picks

Rebuils not over, just beginning

This is our only hope to field a below average team next year and have a couple decent building blocks for the future.

Goff could be a long term solution..dont discount that either. You all wrote him off already lol. Goff could be top qb if drafted this year. Maybe 2nd behind lawrence. Love for wilson and lance and fields and mac jones is premature

you all wrote him off? Only a few people have said such a thing.

No thanks on fields. That’s a nightmare scenario, dude is not prepared for
the nfl. I’d rather have Mac Jones.

Naw. Your way off. The lions wouldn't win in 2021 anyways. Spreading out the picks makes sense. Goff played great on the Road in the playoffs at New Orleans. He is just a bridge qd, and withh so few picks this year it makes sense not taking a rookie qb in the 2021 covid year 2. It's a really good deal. Quinn handcuff us big time. The New GM has a bunch of of options now.
