Stafford in Focus

First downs converted leads to more attempts

Wins achieved equals more wins achieved. Hopefully he can start doing that.

More attempts should lead to more points.....but it doesn't....we score about the same as Minnesota....a team that had like 4 starting qbs in the past year. Nice job stafford!

Stafford had the longest starting field position. He had more work to do. And Stafford had a high number of TDs compared to most QBs.

Turnovers and long fields. More short fields for Detroit, less fumbles by his weapons and RBs and less ints that aren't Staffords fault could do the trick. 12 ints his fault is acceptable for Stafford given his attempts.

lower completion % leads to more attempts.

High drop rates and bad separation leads to lower completion %. That many attempts is due to long fields and Stafford marching us down the field despite weapon issues.

Dump offs, shovel passes, etc lead to more attempts and an artificially high competition %.

His career rating of 83.1 is horrible. He's somewhere in the 13-15 range of starting QBs. For being a #1 draft pick with all of this God-given talent, that's pathetic.

Easy.....slow down little guy.

I agree with the area you placed him in.....I'd say he's 10-12.... But either way that is FAR from pathetic.....especially at the age of 26.

Ryan Leaf (yes, I know he was #2) Tim Couch, Jamarcus Russell, Carr, Jeff Jeorge.....that's pathetic. Stafford has a LOT of time to improve.....and he already is a good QB.

Booger, when you are drafted #1 overall you are expected to be more than a top 15 QB going into your 6th year. You need to be a franchise mover. Not someone who still has bad footwork.

I agree that pathetic is a strong word. "Average" is how I would describe his career to date.

Fine, average. I'll live with that.

An 83.1 QBR is pretty shitty, though.

I'll give you that.....again....he won't be 27 until next year. Look at most QB's....they didn't hit their peaks until 26 or later.

And if they did before that, they usually had Super Bowl caliber teams around them.

Has Stafford?

Lol, our resident slappy would say so.

I think there's enough on this team to be winning this division and winning a playoff game or two. Last year left such a bad taste.

Well espn future rankings has them 21. They seem to agree with the majority in this thread.. the Lions' future power ranking was dragged down by "a lack of faith" in the front office.

Meaning the Lions had a ton of talent so ESPN just made up something to hurt the Lions ranking.

And Staffords YPA was just fine. Especially considering WR 2 and 3 were hurt for half the year.

right...ESPN hates the Lions! Why would they care where any team is ranked? They are just calling it like they see it.

Meaning they want the Lions to PROVE something before moving them up. Right now, all this team has PROVEN (you might wanna look that word up LKP) is that they beat themselves time and time again.

Talent, yes. Faith in the people calling the shots on and off the field.....not yet.

Lack of faith in a front office who is run by Millen's understudy?
