Stafford in Focus

The tape shows him getting hurt. But when healthy he can be top 40.

If healthy, he will.

So you think he has the ability to be a top 40 CB and the Lions GM cut him last year. One of you must be stupid.

6 tackles in three games. What are you basing him "doing well in those games" on exactly?

Ok, Slay?

Top what? 20? 10?

You're the expert on this board remember.....smarter than everyone else. Where does Slay rank?

I'll say top 20 for Slay given it's only year 2 still. Again if healthy. Love him in this scheme. Press man with that size and speed. Can't wait to see it.

Not sure tackles/game is a great measure of how good a CB is.

Deion Sanders averaged 2.72 tackles/game in his career. He was ok.

Not giving up completions. He gave up 9 yards and 38 yards passing in those 2 games. I'll take that from any CB.

I haven't made an appearance in many pages..Now that I have I'm out. Enjoy fellas.

Whoa thanks Grandy. Like I thought some quick turnarounds from bad to good (a couple good to good though like GB). Five years is a long time in the NFL, enough for a competent GM to turn it around. I'll wash MM of the 0-16 but the last 5 years are on him, and I don't see him being fired even if we suck this year....we've got another Millen on our hands IMO.

You realize it only took the Lions 3 years from the 0-16 team to make the playoffs, right?

Right so no excuses. That's my point. Like Grandy said in his post, some would still give Mayhew a pass for 0-16. It's ancient history, you can turnover rosters in the NFL in the blink of an eye, and if you make the right moves you become good fast. Instead of building on that playoff appearance he made the wrong moves and here we are 11 wins in two years. He himself said he severely misjudged the talent on that playoff team. If you remember they stood pretty much pat and drafted complimentary pieces. (Which turned out to be the kind of compliments you give a fat chick for ordering a diet soda with her french fries). Any idiot could see the miracle start - 3 wins down by twenty - and the second half collapse, the not beating any team with a winning record, and the second half in the NO game shit show, and knew we need to improve our secondary, our defense in general, etc. He's the worst tenured GM with 5 years or more in...and he's the third worst GM in the NFL. But that's only if you are evaluating things like win loss records and playoff appearances.

Don't get me started on extending Schwartz as a good move... Who the hell extends a coach a year before his contract is up and to the tune of 6 mil a year? Who the hell is Schwartz - Nick Saban? Bill Belichick? Where was he going to go, was some team going to poach dumb dumb Schwartz? This guy has Millen written all over him.

Lol. Shoot, no research needed for that ongoing nightmare, we've been living it for 50 years. He does get an A for effort though... good job Grandy
