Stafford in Focus

2-14 2009. That is not on Mayhew.
6-10 without Stafford in 2010 still in the rebuild.

10-6, 4-12 with major injuries and 7-9. And they played much better than their record in 2012 and 2013. Correct call to hire and extend Schwartz/Linehan but the coaching failed him the last 2 years. Turnovers will drop and the Lions win total will sky rocket with these new coaches and weapons.

Nearly every GM on that list took over a crap team in their first couple of years...not our level of crap but crap...or else they wouldn't have been hired and the previous GM ousted. Grandy I'd like to know the record the first year or two of some of those GMs that have turned it around.

We had major injuries on top of a crap start. Mayhew has brought in the talent and now has the coaches though made the right call on coaching at the time in 2009 and prior to 2012.

Wishful thinking. I don't see it, I see a 7 to 8 win team. I hope your right

Texans have 2 playoff wins in 8 years under that GM. Lions have 1 playoff win in 50+ years. Pretty, pretty sad.

Correct call to extend Swartz????

And since Mayhew wanted head coaching experience in his second hire, I bet we would have hired Caldwell anyway after that Super Bowl performance. Reid wanted too much GM power, Arians/Bradley/Marrone/Trestman/McCoy/Chip Kelly were not experienced as HCs.

I made a call to drink a bunch of beer on Saturday. Right call at the time, but backfired the next day.

It was still his decision. He's responsible for it. He has a horrible record as a GM.

At the time yes. Made playoffs. He was a lame duck in 2012. At the time it was the right call. But it ended up screwing him.

who cares that he was a lame duck. After the hot start they finished 5-7 including a playoff loss. I don't think they beat a single playoff team that season.

Tom, they didn't beat a team above .500.

They beat 4 .500 teams that caused them to miss the playoffs. Stafford finger injury and decimated secondary and no Best, Stafford and the weapons carried them to the playoffs once he got healthy after Thanksgiving. Strong 3-1 finish with one loss being a game that mattered only for seeding.

If healthy he could be top 40.

Stick your fuckin neck out, pussy. Otherwise, shut the fuck up and get off this fuckin board.

You say you study film. Watch game tape.

Not could be, not potentially, not if healthy.....

Yes or no.....in 2014, Chris Greenwood will play like the top 40 corner you say he is?

The tape shows him getting hurt. But when healthy he can be top 40.

If healthy, he will.

When healthy, he can be top 40... Based on what, exactly? Damn the measureables. The guy was what, a 5th round pick from Albion? Play a complete game, and then we'll talk.

Right now, he's not a top 40 CB. He's not capable of being a top 40 CB. He's at best, a reserve.

He's played 2 complete games and did very well in those games.
