Stafford is 0-15 on the road vs winning teams

So it was a good run day or not? It seems that they had 2 good runs that day and the rest sucked! A 33 yard run and a 22 yard run and then stuffed the rest of the day is not a good running day.

You do realize you just described Barry Sanders, right? I'd say he was pretty good.

Looks like youre still on the good stuff ink

Yeah, I got a 30 day prescription for this shit. I'm gonna be in a good mood until the playoffs man.

It's the best way to drink Lions Koolaid. We're going 6-0 from here out baby, 13-3 season. Write that shit down. Ink is a true believer baby!

JUST WIN BABY!

yet he'll use the run game as an excuse for why Stafford cant throw the football.

I love this version of Ink. Screw the logic and rational thought of old. Let's just go with Honolulu Blue Kool-Aid!!!

While that is a somewhat fair point, Bell has 122 carries this year and the 22 yarder and 33 yarder in the AZ game were his two longest of the year!

I'd still rather have Bell getting the majority of the carries. I don't think this O-line is what a back like Bush needs to exceed.

It's a little scary after signing Bush, finding Bell, drafting LeShore, and drafting Best, the running game still does nothing to scare anyone.

Since the team is allergic to drafting secondary help, just throw two sheets to the wind and pick up an RB in the 1st.

I actually disagree....the offense needs big plays to put points on the board. Right now were in a rut consisting of 3 yard runs and 4 yard dump downs. Bell would be great on a team that wants to pound the rock and establish the run....but we have raoila so we cant. Samsonite and Sims have sucked just as bad. So were not pounding shit. At the same time, reggie isn't going to make any big plays on bad ankles. Shouldn't even try to run the ball consistently anymore until warlord is back and healthy. Not to mention who knows whats going on with our rotating scrubs at RT.

Saying Bush didn't have to be accounted for or that no one was "scared" of him last year is pretty silly. We just haven't had his big play ability this year because his wheels are falling off, and he can't get healthy. Riddick cant run the ball, but we all know he can contribute to the passing game if given the pt. Honestly, I would love to see them draft one of the premiere Rbs in this coming draft. If they want a balanced offense of sorts, imo, it is time to start over at the rb position. I know everybody is going to say that Stafford doesn't need any more weapons, blah, blah, blah. But it's not even about that, it's about Lombardi being here and needing a play making rb for his (shitty) playcalling to actually produce, and we need some splash plays out of our backs. If we had even last year's version of Bush, this offense would look alot better. I like Riddick, but as many pointed out, he's just not explosive, especially running the ball, he needs space to do anything.

KDP, after countering my point in your first sentence, you kind of proved my point in the rest of your thoughts. I wasn't referring to last year or the past. My point is that after investing in all of these resources at RB and even doing a decent job of finding Bell, the team still doesn't have a competent attack at the position. That speaks to the poor draft picks of LeShore and Best and how the team didn't do their homework. Best was a HUGE risk, and it did not pan out.

I'll agree it's not anymore, but last year, it exceeded my expectations(minus the fumbling issues ), so it's not like we've never got any production out of Bush/Bell. When read your post I look at the how you used the word STILL, and intrepret it as u saying these guys never did a thing in the past uear. Answer this, should drafting a running back early in the draft be a high priority? If we somehow managed to lock Suh down, I'd have to say yes

Last year was one of the only years in recent memory where the running game was an actual threat. Go to the Lions page on ESPN, and roll back through the past 5 years with the rushing. It's pretty sad.

Yup, drafting an RB is a priority.

It's not though. Just got off the treadmill.....watching ESPN and they're talking about Adrian Peterson......they put up a graphic about Minnesotas rushing numbers through 10 games from 2013 and 2014.

Almost exact same numbers. Same yards/attempt....4.6.....actually about 50 more yards overall.

Don't get me wrong.....AP is a great RB (not a great man).....but today's game has changed. You can get a RB late rounds/FA/ waiver wire. Look at that dude from NE......199 yards and 4 TD. He was a fuckin nobody.

If I'm Mayhew......I look to gram Knile Davis from KC.....Christine Micheal from Sea......or a late round back like Langford from MSU.

Well, you can get anything late rounds and they pan out sometimes, that's just the roll of the draft dice.

If there's an absolute primo, elite RB coming out of college you can still take the chance on that. Now, if it's the 2nd round... I would feel sorry for that kid if he's taken 2nd round.

I grab a new LG and roll with Swanson at center and get him stronger. Hope Warford Reiff and Waddle stay healthy.

Bell and Riddick can get the job done. The problem isn't the running backs reading the hole or their abilility to make people miss or break tackles (Bell).

Agree with Bell, although I'm not as sold on Waddle/Swanson (too soon to tell really). I think Bell could be a star in this league. He's fast enough, doesn't fall on first contact, and seems to have decent vision. With the right line, he could be top 10 easily.

Bell is nothing special. He could be a serviceable RB but no way does he have the talent to be a top 10 RB in the NFL.

ive been saying it for 10 years.....Build the line and it doesn't matter what rb you have back there. Our oline blows at run blocking. Waddle sucks, Samsonite will be moved to center but he isn't very good, sims is done, reiff is fine. So we need a tackle, lg and could use an upgrade at center if we want to be a good running team. Warlord is the only lineman we have that is above average at run blocking.

Ive freaked out on mayhew for years for investing high round picks on rbs without a good oline.....I was later proven right. Last year was a complete anomaly probably cause CJ was such a monster the year before.....we had a 6 man box to run against practically the entire year.

With all that being said.....Melvin Gordon III (mg3) would look dang good in honalulu blue lol. But id probably still complain about the pick due to all the needs on this team. I don't put RB as a very high one.
