Stonum is gone

with Hemingway and Koger gone, we aren't real strong on receiving, Roundtree a bit disappointing this year
everone else limited or untested

guess all the spartans pre-emptively bashing Hoke over keeping Stonum need to step up and admit they were wrong, and he's a better man than Dantonio when it comes to player discipline.

Yeah and it only took how many infractions ? I bash on Dantonio all the time for his softness and I would have if Hoke would have kept Stonum, so you get no apology from me. Hoke did the right thing.

It is interesting to see that both of us will have issues at WR. At least you have Roundtree and Gallon. Who knows if Arnett will even get clearance to play for us AND if he will even be that good.

Roundtree needs to be back in the slot. I think being on the outside is why he had such a down year.

That was his 1st infraction under Hoke, wasn't it? He got in trouble in '08, 10', and now. As far as I know, there are no knocks against Hoke thus far.

Yes it was. He played this one perfect.

You don't have a link to a thread where you bash Dantonio, do you? I'd be curious to see how other Spartans react.

Completely agree. It would have been very easy and SEC-ish of Hoke to say the other stuff wasn't on "his watch" and to dismiss it or ignore it, for the sake of the roster.

Instead, he makes yet another spot-on decision regarding the program and it's reputation.

didn't stonum get in trouble last spring? That's why Hoke suspended him? I'd say a one year sit down was a good punishment. It was a warning to keep his nose clean. Kid didn't, so Hoke put his foot all the way down.

I understand where you are coming from but it doesn't matter who was coaching when said infractions occured. I'm sure Hoke knew about Stonum's past after he took the job. Think about Sims at MSU. If we got a new coach and Sims screwed up again, that doesn't mean strike one.

Whats really sad is the kid could have gotten his degree if he kept his nose clean. He double screwed himself.

Dude, I bash on Dantonio all the time about being a soft motherfucker. I have for years. Of course I dont have a link but if you want to go back through any posts from the past about MSU, feel free. I'm not making this shit up.

Exactly, Hoke did the right thing. How can you explain letting a kid back on the team after numerous DUI's, MIP's and a Probation violation with jail time served. You dont want that kind of image, trust me.

I actually just went to the MSU board (for the 1st time, I think) to look for that kind of post. Haven't found anything yet.

Why are Sparty fans posting on the situation and providing advice on a decision that was already correctly made? Stonum was punished, it is sad and the situation is over. No message being sent one way or the other and no other fanbase outside of Michigan's probably even noticed.

Hoke makes Dantonio look worse by comparison by what he DOESN'T do ..

It sounds like he's still hoping to graduate.
